Sadly, I haven't had the pleasure of trying either of these materials yet. I am hoping to try ceramic in the near future, though.

I have one of each and I prefer wood, mainly because it seems to hold temperature better.

I prefer silicone. It's safe, easily sterilized, and comes in a variety of firmnesses and color choices.
