Please only answer the poll if you have used a kegel exerciser before.
I'm wondering if a beginner should use a certain type of material when it comes to vaginal balls... I really like the Glass Ben Wa Balls here: link, but if I should start out with metal, or another material, then I'll do that first.
Or does it not really matter and it is more of a preference?

Is the material of kegel exercise balls important when trying for the first time?

Oh, and I wanted to mention, if it is more of a personal preference thing, then what would you recommend for the material since I have not used any and cannot have a preference if I haven't used any yet.

I personally don't like the ones that don't have cords. Digging them out or squeezing them out just isn't fun for me. All of mine except my first ones are corded and silicone. The very first pair I got were metal.
I think if you get traditional Ben Wa Balls metal or glass is the way to go. I've never had plastic other than what's in my Luna Beads. I would think plastic that doesn't have the silicone wrapping might be uncomfortable after a while. Plus it's not as high on the safety scale.

I prefer silicone Kegel Balls. I have two sets, one from Fun Factory and one from Cal Exotics (I think) and I think they are easier to use than glass and safer than other materials.
Often the glass ones are so small that new users can't keep them in. Silicone balls are usually joined and have a "tail" or retrieval cord so they can be used without fear of getting them stuck.
Many old fashioned metal balls are made from suspect materials, especially the cloisonne ones. I have no idea what the metal or the paint or lacquer of those balls are, so I stay away from them.

Get silicone balls. Plastic is a good alternative.

I didn't vote, because I am a beginner to them as well. I did just get the Emigi with the Black Friday sale, because it was among the ones I was considering. I was looking for something that had a cord to pull it out, and was made of a body-safe material. I've only tried it twice, but it was comfortable to use, and did both stimulate the area with movement and help remind me to use them.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I think with my next order I will get a silicone set with a cord (not nylon).
So the ones without a cord should be for those who have gotten used to them with the cord?

Silicone, or the WTP they use in Emigi.

Glass or Silicone. I personally would NOT want metal in my vagina. I know that's weird but I just wouldn't like that. Takes forever to heat up. Glass warms quickly and Silicone is very friendly to new users.

Do you not like the metal just because of the heat aspect or is it something else?

Depends on what you like to feel inside. I like silicone because they are easy to clean and the material feels good to me.

I would get silicone exercisers, I am also considering getting into some vaginal strengthening toys.

I like silicone, but I also love my Luna Beads which are plastic. I hate cords - I cut them off if they have them.

I've never gotten any either, I'm considering it.
I would like a retrival cord if at all possible. I think it would be really fun and a new experience to enjoy personally. Plus, tighter kegels who doesn't want that!

I like glass.

Silicone?

glass, silicone!

size and weight are more important.

I have the Ami, which is silicone, and it's far superior to the plastic balls I bought first. As much as I love glass, I wouldn't end up using those for fear of dropping one -- not just the chance of breaking it, but also the noise factor.

Glass is pretty dangerous. I'd stay away.
