If you follow the cautions, the only problem I could see is if it were too tight. If you pay attention and follow everything to the letter, you should be fine. But alas, I have read some bad effects of not following directions, not just from this sight or members, but I did alot of research before I was willing to choke the little guy!

We haven't used a pump, but have had no problems with rings. I believe as far as any toy goes, be sure to follow the instructions, use it responsibly, and communicate if you're with a partner, and you should easily avoid injury.

No negative effects, personally. If you leave a ring on that's extremely tight with no lubrication for an extended period though, yes, some harm can easily result.
