It depends on what you are looking to achieve. If it is needed to sustain an erection, look to silicone, leather and some of the firmer TPR materials. Steel is also an option, but I do not recommend it if you do not have some experience with C-ring's. Sizing if VERY important with steel. Remember that C-rings should not be worn for more than 20-30 min.

Now if you are just looking for some clit stimulation and some increase in size, the softer materials will work fine. Some of them will sustain an erection and prolong ejaculation, which is a plus. I tend to stay away from jelly and other materials that are low on the material safety scale but as long as you are not sharing and/or you and your partner are fluid bonded there is no problem.

With any option you chose, if there is numbness, bruising or any pain stop and take it off. You do not want to cause any damage to the penis.

What he said.

ALSO, if you're looking to something with a bullet, I would make sure you take your anatomy and the sizing into consideration and even use "actual size" feature. I've gotten two things that were supposed to help with clitoral stimulation, but due to the fact that I have a small clit that sits pretty high, it wasn't very stimulating.

We have a couple of silicone plain rings, one with a small vibrator on it and one leather one by Spartacus with snaps. I bought them (the vibe was a "gift" from an other company) and he isn't all that crazy about wearing them. He was afraid to put the ring behind his testes, which really for most rings works best, so we haven't gotten the best experiences from them just wearing them at the base of his cock.

All the experimentation we've done, with my body, I'd like him to be a little looser about experimenting with the rings, but we haven't had the luck we wanted with them.

I can't make him. It's his body. I do think it would help some "issues" we've been having, though.

Some are made to go around the base of the penis, some are made to go behind the testes. You do need to lube the ring and the man's penis and testes to get most rings to go on properly. Even a leather ring, which snaps, will have less chafing issues if he is lubed.

The ring should be put on when he is only semi hard, or even soft. Don't even try to get the ring on once he has an erection. If the balls are going to be IN the ring, put one ball in, then the other, then the soft cock. THEN he can get an erection. Our first foray was hilarious, because I kept telling him he had to stay soft and he's laughing and saying, "You're kneeing there, naked, you keep saying "cock" your hair is brushing against my belly and you're playing with my dick.....and you want me to stay soft?"

As Tim said, I wouldn't go with a steel cock ring until you know what you are doing with more workable materials. There is NO give to a steel cock ring, and you have to size it exactly, or it's a waste. Too large and it doesn't work, too small and you can hurt him. Silicone and adjustable leather is probably best for beginners.

And I agree with Tim. We have gotten rid of all our jelly toys for safety of our bodies, so we have now only silicone and leather rings.

I prefer silicone or leather straps. I try to stay away from jelly in general for health concerns.

Metal is best but you MUST get the right size.

stainless. if you measure and get the right size, they fit nice, they dont pull on your pube's when you take them off, and they have some weight to them.
