Liberator Throe

So, those of you who have any experience with these... do they need to go in the wash after one use? Like, after whatever fluid/lube/etc. has been spilled and dried, is the throe smelly? Does it show residue?

I'm thinking about investing in one, but not sure if it's something I'd have to wash between every use, in which case it's not so different than having to wash whatever blanket/sheet just got sexed up. And, I don't have a home washing machine, so that'd get irritating.

We were bad, we stashed our throe under the bed when our son woke up VERY early one morning. I forgot about it, came back to it like 4 days later - washed it and EVERYTHING came out. No smell, no funk, no stains.

It doesn't smell or stain even after repeated use. It comes out of the washer almost dry and line dries well. The first time that I washed it I did tumble dry it as the care tag recommends and it looked great.

Glad to hear this washes up nicely. I've been thinking about purchasing, but was worried about it falling apart. Thanks!

So basically, it'd be fine (if not ideal) to not wash between a couple uses without any irritating lingering smell?

My friend has one and washes it every couple of times without any trouble. She hasn't tested how long it can go but you should be fine with washing it every couple of times. I guess it depends how messy you are as well.

I finally sucked it up and got one. Still in the getting-to-know it stage. I'm not overly impressed with the interior texture, but it certainly does a good job keeping come off the sheets.

However, the velvety side REALLY attracts lint/dust/etc. I wasn't execting that, and it's kind of irritating since that's the side I put up.

I don't have personal experience with it but she hasn't found lint or dust a problem on hers. I'm not the best person to answer this but maybe using something after washing it would help.

Thanks for the heads up on the velvety side of the throw -- I have 2 dogs at home and was curious as to how the blanket would hold up.

I have the Shag throe, and a siamese kitty. The throe doesn't pick up the hair much at all. I am very impressed with it.

How well does it handle oil? Does the oil soak in or just stay on the top? We've been looking for something to toss over the bed/floor/couch and get really nasty with.

One side is absorbent and one side is slippery - less absorbent. However, even the 'absorbent' side is not absorbent like a towel. I can just say we use the Thoe for 98% of our intimate encounters.

The throe works great. It does not absorb like a towel but it does a great job of keeping everything else dry.

For those of you who have the throw which side do you keep up when you use it?

I use the plush side up; I feel that it's way more cozy and sensual than the satin side--the satin side is too crinkly.

I'm all for the plush side. Not only is it definitely warmer, but the satin side is a bit too much like "doctor's office bed paper" for me.

So, is the Liberator Throe really worth the sizable chunk of change that it costs? Are there any less expensive alternatives?

Yes. You could throw one of the plastic liners under your sheets (and wash the sheets frequently) or use.. This thread has some other suggestions but the basic idea is that nothing will be as luxurious or as soft as the Throe

I love my throw but I wish I had purchased the one that was all microfiber and not a satin side, it's too slick.

I thought the throw would be great to heighten any couples experience.

When my SO and I found out that I was a squirter we simply bought waterproof mattress pads - the sheets get washed every few times (every time if I make a serious mess) and we've never really found it worth the trouble to buy a throe.

I writhe/wiggle too much, anyway - I doubt that thing could avoid getting scrunched off to one side by the time I'm done.

I want one sooo bad. I've been going through towels like crazy. squirting isn't always all fun and games. but it would be with a throe! haha
