Okay, I'm having a storage crisis, and I'm going to take care of it with power tools and a sewing machine. So, if you could build the perfect storage container, what features would it include?

(So far, my design -- in the form of a medium-sized locking trunk -- includes a built-in charging station; a slot to hold my Tunti; a dedicated section for lubes which will be lined with plastic, for easy clean-up in the event of spills; a small removable bucket in case a toy needs to be stashed with only a quickie cleaning; a dispenser for wipes; storage room in the lid for books (or dvds I suppose); and of course plenty of storage room.)

Wow that's pretty complete. I think I'd want dividers to make storage of different sized toys easy as well. I keep a towel handy in the box as well. Usually keep it laid out for those 'in walk the kids moments' when toys are tossed over the side of the bed just to hide them until order is restored lol. Towel prevents them from getting on top of everything else in the box. Thank god they growing outta that stage though!

Yes, a towel is good. I'm going to build it big enough to hold a Liberator Throe, and possibly a Wing, as well as toys. And yes, the dividers are the whole point, I can't believe I failed to type that! Silly me.

I'd create it all in small sections (almost like for individual toys) so that my damn silicone toys will stop trying to hang out with each other! You cannot be friends, y'all.

It's not the pure silicone toys that can't touch each other, it's the silicone blends that can't touch each other, or the pure silicone. But I keep every single toy I own in its own separator bag anyway, so it's all good.

Yes, the blends is what I was thinking of, but if I'd have sections just for those toys I'd want it for all of them so that it'd be all neat and orderly.

Maybe a summer project...

This one is likely to look respectably masculine, seeing as it needs to blend in to the decor of the room (antiques and earth tones) so I'll post pics somewhere when it's done.

Ohhhh - cant wait to see pics. I have seriously been considering building my own too cause I want all my toys in the one area and any storage boxes I have seen are nowhere near big enough.
You have certainly given me some ideas.
Might go draw up some designs!

My ultimate storage would a beautiful black lacquered armoire (with Indian or Oriental design touches in amber gold and crimson red). It would be tall with doors that swing open French-style and would have lots and lots of shelves inside. And it would lock.

I use my drawers and the bottom of the bed (not under it, it's actually inside the bed).
