The first thing I do when I get a new vibrator is power it up and go through all the speeds and patterns. Most of the time, by putting it on my finger or in my hand, I can tell if it will feel good when I actually use it. Sometimes I'm surprised and something I thought would just be okay is great or vice versa but mostly I'm pretty accurate with my hand test. Can you feel in your hand if you'll like a vibrator when you use it?
Can you tell if you'll like a vibrator as soon as you turn it on?

Yes. almost always.
10/14/2011
Almost every time. I've only been wrong once, and it was only because the vibrator had a tendency to overheat after about five minutes of use.

I like low pitched rumbly vibrators, and I can usually tell if they're like that when I turn them on for the first time.

I need a lot of vroom, so I can tell.

I can tell when I turn it on by the vibrations. I need a medium vibration or a high vibration with half battery.

That is my first test!

Sometimes! At first I thought I wouldn't like my Paul but now it's my fave!

Most of the time. I am able to see the size, shape and feel the vibrations so I know how fast to get to the bedroom

I voted most of the time. I tried the high intensity mini bullet and just turning it on, I could tell I wouldn't like the buzzy vibrations. The Mimi, on the other hand, I could tell right away that I would love it.

Same here. Turn it on and go through all the modes. I mess with my vibes like a curious little kid that's never seen an electronic before I actually use them.

Sometimes, but there have been times where it felt strong on my fingers, but less so in action.

Sometimes...
But there have been many times that I thought I would love a vibe that I ended up hating.

I can tell the first time with most toys!
10/16/2011
There have been the occasional nice surprises and ones that I thought would work and ended up not being my type, but for the most part, I can tell right away after turning it on if I will like it.
10/16/2011
Not really, I am disappointed sometimes.
10/17/2011
Sometimes, though I have been surprised with some toys. I remember one jelly anal plug that seemed quite underwhelming, yet my girl loves it!

I'm really weird when it comes to vibrations. It varies greatly! I can't ever tell just by the sound unless I'm going by how powerful it is, but some of the very powerful high pitched vibes still don't do it for me that's why my guesses are finicky.

Yes, almost always!

Ya, It's funny you say that. Most of the time that I get it in the mail and I try it in my hand an I decide whether I'll like it or not I'm normally right.

I've never been able to tell up front/by hand. I've never really tried or thought about it though...

Yup. That's why I like to feel an item in person before ordering online.

No.
01/14/2012
I can usually tell if I'll like the type of vibrations but I'm not always sure if I like the size or shape. That's something that I need to test out.
01/14/2012
I can't always tell if I'm going to like it, but I can always tell if I'm going to dislike it.
Maybe that doesn't make sense.

It's the easiest way to tell if something is rumbly/buzzy and how powerful it is. I can even do it by sound most of the time.
01/14/2012
I never have tried that but maybe I should give it a go and see if I can tell the difference.
01/14/2012
For the most part. I like a very strong vibe and I can usually tell when I turn it on if it's going to work for me.
