Obviously, most, if not all of us enjoy the use of sex toys. This question is geared more towards the vibrator and dildo using crowd.

If you use a sex toy, what kind of preferences do you have? Do you like them big, small or medium sized? Do you like a fun and bright color scheme, or do you like something more muted? Do you prefer realistic or whimsical? Do you need a base on your toys?

For myself, I like my toys to look as cutesy as possible. I have a small collection of little critters and other like objects, such an ocean wave and bubbles. I like my toys to look interesting and aesthetically pleasing. Most, if not all, of my toys are more abstract and do not resemble phallic shapes. Though I enjoy looking at phallic toys, I prefer them to have bright colors, preferable pink or purple, or some kind of ridiculous color scheme. If a toy doesn't have some power AND is not fun to look at, I have a hard time wanting to purchase it.

I like a variety of different toys. Some of the traits are: classy, fun, bright, and traditional or unique. As long as they are functional and work great. The performance is the main objective for me, personally.

Not necessarily bright colours, but interesting ones.

"Phallic" is debatable. For general use, I prefer more abstract and less phallic, although there are occasions when I would prefer something a little more realistic.

I don't want my strap-on to be totally funky, I like something like the Share, where it suggests a phallus, but isn't explicit about it. That's about as realistic as I think I'll ever want.-0piu0

And that last bit was my cat. Must be something profound.

I chose other because I didn't really feel like I fit any of the options you posted. I like my toys small, somewhat phallic shaped and darker colored. Toys that are feminine colored are a HUGE turn off for me and I find myself not wanting to use them or shopping for other similar toys with different colors.

I want them to be attractive to look at. For some toys, that might mean looking realistic and muted in color. For others that might mean bright yellow or lime green. I have some toys that are phallic, some that aren't. I /hate/ purple or bright pink toys, just because they're so overdone. A pale petal pink though is acceptable to me.

Really it depends on the toy. But I will generally reject ugly toys right off, regardless of how good they are in all other ways.

I like them to be colorful and pretty but I don't like the "critters" very much, except maybe the Santa ducky, that's kinda cute.

I like hot pink best but if that's not an option I go for black or another neon color.

I prefer clean lines or nice curves like something you'd find at a Scandinavia furniture store over something phallic. More abstract is better for me. If the only option is phallic, then non-realistic color is a must. I won't buy anything that looks certified realistic. It's just not for me. There's a few strap on dildos that I really want that come only in realistic color and shape that I just can't seem to bring myself to buy no matter how great they sound on looks alone. Maybe one day I'll get past it.

I want my toys to look refined and high quality. Usually, I don't like anything that looks cheap, but I love buying toys on sale and getting a good deal. Contradictory perhaps, but I don't like paying for toys that are expensive and don't look like they are any different (or perform any different) than the low-end toys.

I voted for not phallic, but what I really meant to say is I don't like realistic toys. I'd like them to be unique and interesting and catch my attention! Cute little animals/butterflies are okay by me.

Function is priority number one, but form still matters. It doesn't have to be phallic or a certain color, but it does have to be visually pleasing. That can be anything from realistic to shiny stainless steel.

I don't like cutesy toys because some of them kind of creep me out. I like toys that are insertable so to say I don't like phallic toys would be a mistake because most insertables are phallic. But I don't like realisty toys. I guess classy and aesthetically appealing would be the best description. Function is priority but I won't buy anything I don't like the look of. I love Lelo & Je Joue's toys because they are pretty and classy and feminine. This might sound kind of weird, but it has to look like it will be pleasant to touch. Like it will feel nice in my hand and on my skin, if that makes sense.

I like my toys to looks simple and classy, I like bright colors. I just don't want them to look cheap
