Either works for me. I use rechargeable batteries for everything (photographer, I would go through a ton of batteries just from that alone!) so it really makes no difference to me.

Kind of both? I have a few rechargeable toys, but most of mine are battery-operated. I have a bunch of rechargeable batteries for them, though, so I don't have to waste money on buying eco-unfriendly batteries.
