Why or why not?
Do you take the batteries out of your vibrators when they are not in use?

Because I want to use those batteries in other toys.

Seems to me they last longer, plus with our humidity U.P. here they have a tendency to rust.

I never used to, but now I have so many toys that I can't keep the batteries in a few or I won't have batteries for other toys. So I've gotten in the habit of taking them out AND charging them. Too many times I had half dead batteries and got frustrated because I couldn't get off.

Yes, I do. However, I have a few toys that are in high rotation that I leave the batteries in. So I guess I should have voted "sometimes" instead of "always."

I always do. I don't really have a reason for doing so. I usually remove batteries from everything if they are not being used for a while.
09/03/2010
We don't usually, even though we know we should. The only toys we tend to take them out of are ones we're traveling with.

Almost always I don't bother to take them out. I'm too lazy.

For convenience I used to leave them in, but learned my lesson after my nearly new batteries were drained by being left in toys between uses.

Not only am I too lazy to take the batteries out, My Man would never find them, and we like to be able to grab what toys we want in a second!
I know the batteries may last longer, but I don't want batteries all over the bottom of my bags, and waiting for him to try to find the right way to put them in, when I'm...eh ehm....in a compromising and very......insistent frame of body and mind. ("DO IT, OH GOD, JUST DO IT!!!" No, I have no patience, when I want that toy, I want it when I desire it.)

I never do unless I need to use them in another toy...

It depends. If it's a toy I use infrequently, then I do. But if it's something I use almost daily, then no.

I've only just started using toys..maybe two months ago. Since then, I've never taken out the batts..Mostly because when I wanna play, it's too much of a hassle to put the batts back IN!
Out of the few toys I now own, there is one that takes four AA's, and it's a real PITA to put them in..the case doesn't always close up right, and it's hard to sit the battery tips on the coils..It would simply be too much.
That said, I know that one ideally SHOULD remove the batteries every time a toy has been used (guiltily looking around...)!

I agree with the whole too lazy thing. Also, since I use my toys almost daily, there is no point in it. They only come out to be charged.
09/05/2010
I take them out of the toys that we don't use that often. I also take them out of certain toys that I have that will drain batteries even when they're not on. The ones I use frequently I leave in.
09/05/2010
I know it's better for the batteries and the toy. Also so I can use the batteries in other toys.
09/05/2010
I primarily use rechargeable toys as my most frequently used toys so I try to take the batteries out of all my non rechargeables so they last longer. I've had batteries corrode inside toys and ruin them and I hate to have that happen to something I really like and just don't use often.

+1, when I feel like it lol. I try to remember so they don't get corroded but sometimes I just don't feel like it

I don't take them out every time, but I do check the batteries for corrosion on a routine basis.
09/05/2010
I try to make this a habit as much as possible.

90% of the time. Some of my toys are hard to insert the batteries and if I want to use them in the moment would be a bitch to struggle with, but for the most part, I take them out. I would have like hundreds of batteries if all my toys had them in 24/7!

I have a bunch of traditional dial based vibes so Batteries last longer taken out!

When I just had a very few vibes, I left the batteries in until the batteries died. As my collection has grown, I take the batteries out as I simply don't have enough batteries to keep all my vibes on the ready and the batteries will give out and damage the vibes anyway.

I have more often now that I joined this site and know it's good for them.
09/10/2010
Only when I remember to. Which isn't often.
I try to buy rechargeable toys for this reason, though. I find that constantly buying batteries is wasteful, plus loading/unloading puts wear on the contacts, plus monitoring if they are in the toy too long or not is a pain. I'm at the point where spending the extra money is just a smart investment.

Mine are rechargable and as MK says, I have to take them out to use them in other toys.

The first time I bought toys I spent about $70. I left the toys together and left the batteries in all 3 vibrators. One day I was getting ready to use one my favorite toys, and found out the batteries exploded all over! So, to be on the safe side I threw them away and now have to start over.

I try to - I've had one where the batteries leaked and another that got switched on in storage, so the batteries died. Dead batteries don't sound like much, but if they're an unusual size they can be an inconvenience.
