Yes it is really loud. I forgot how loud it was. I took it out the other night to use for my back. And I almost woke up my baby with it. This was on the low setting. I then had to suffer thru the back pain.

I remember when I had one, after hearing all the talk about the noise, thinking that it wasn't nearly as loud as I'd expected. That said, it's still considerably louder than most toys, and it can be heard through a closed door.

Yes! My experiment was to turn it on, place in under the covers and walk around the house. I closed the bedroom door. I can still hear it in my kids room when their doors are closed as well. I can hear it in every room in my house except the kitchen. But it does feel amazing. I still use it when I have the house to myself.

It's loud enough that someone in the same room is defintely going to hear it. But not so loud that the neighbors are going to wonder what you're doing...

It's pretty loud. It's as loud as all those "wand massagers" are that they sell at sharper image/brookstone etc.
