Is the Lelo Mona only a material safe #8 because the handle is plastic or should it be worried about?

The handle is plastic, the coating on the insertable portion is silicone and safe.

When you see something that is listed "plastic/silicone" and material safety 8, it's usually referring to an average rating between the plastic and silicone.

Whoa...that could be misleading!

It is super safe, silicone rocks for safety, the rating thing is a little weird, I'm not sure why they felt they had to lower it bcs of the plastic, you don't even insert the plastic portion but what do I know .

It's got the lower safety rating because you can't boil it to sterilize it! But both the plastic and the silicone are nonporus, so it's super sanitary!
