Jopen Warranty

Contributor: Missmarc Missmarc
Hi guys, I been considering a Jopen. Those toys come with a hefty price. I am unclear about the warranty information for those toys. It says on their website that after I register the product, I will get an option to get a 10 year replacement plan.
Does anyone know if I have to pay more money to get this 10 year replacement plan? Does it only come with 1 year warranty with the toy? Also, do I have to pay for return shipping if my product needs replacement?

Here's the info from the site:

There is a 90 day warranty against mechanical failure on the Intensity.

There is a 1 year warranty on mechanical failure on the Vanity products.

You have to send the original receipt along with the product and $10 for shipping and handling (along with whatever you pay for shipping to get to them).

I don't see anything about a 10 year option, but I assume if you can pick this when you register that it is an additional cost.

Ty for finding that information. Wow that's really crappy warranty for such expensive toys. They claim on their website to have one of the best warranty programs in existence....
To be honest, I get way better warranty from Logitech on a gaming mouse that's under 50 dollars (3 years, and they will pay for all shipping costs).
I've always considered vibrators small electronics just like any other. I imagine after paying somewhere between 100 to 300 dollars for a small electronics, we deserve better warranties.

Yeah, I agree. I think they should all come with 3-10 year warranties. For all the money you spend, they could at least promise they won't break!

HI DeliciousSurprise, I've seen this page. The reason I ask is because I don't have a Jopen Vibrator yet, and I really want to know what the optional 10 year replacement program cost.
So is there anyone on the forum who has a Jopen that registered? and know what getting into this optional 10 year replacement program entails?

Okay, just for you I went and registered my Vr6.

Here what the page it directs me to says about the 10 year warranty:

"To Claim Your 10 Year Replacement Guarantee

Vanity is proud to provide an extended 10 year replacement guarantee to its very appreciated customer.
Register at the Jopen website within one year of your original purchase and you have the option of a 10 year replacement guarantee in addition to our 1 year warranty.
The 10 year replacement guarantee provides you with an unbelievable 50% off on your purchase of a new product of equal or lesser value.
We are aware that products do not last forever, so we will do our best to ensure you love our products as well as our company.
Special offer restricted to a two-time only basis. Therefore the new discounted item will not include a warranty."

It didn't cost anything to add on!! It's just an extra step to register on top of the regular registration.

So basically, the Jopen warranty is pretty much the same as the LELO warranty.

EDIT: Wanted to note that it is VERY important that you have the original packaging as it will ask for a number off of the box to register the warranty. So if you have a Jopen but have thrown away the box, I think you can't get the warranty without that number. So when you get one, make sure you register it right away so you don't forget. I already have one I threw the box out on, so I'm kinda screwed on that one, I guess.

Tyvm Stanedclear for finding out. If that's the 10 years replacement program, it really is crappy... I cannot believe you have to save your packaging too.
Jopen kinda lost its appeal to me after finding out about this to be honest. I might just get another Jimmyjane for now, at least they give 3 years of warranty.
I just have problem buying small electronics without good warranties... especially when it's so expensive for what it is.

I registered, but never heard anything back from them. Kinda sketchy.

I've been considering one of the Jopen's too as my next vibe. Keep debating between those and a Jimmyjane... Both have decent warranties as compared to most sex toys, not necessarily to "small electronics" in general. That said, I think I might prefer Lelo's the Jopens. They're very similar, but Lelo's seems more straight forward and up front to me. Maybe Lelo just has a better marketing team that makes it *seem* that way. Idk.

It's really hard to decide what's "worth it" at this level. The texture of the silicone, strength of vibration, different types of movement and vibration patterns, overall finish, type of recharging format (plug versus docking stations, etc). I do not know.

Hi Everyone. Here at Jopen we offer a 1 year warranty with the purchase of your product. We ask that you register online. & if your product needs to be replaced we have the instructions online too.We have a customer service team that is always here to help. You can call us at 909-590-5210

For the 10year warranty. Once you register you will get information on how to sign up. This is all very easy to do. Just a side note, Jopen has one of the best warranty programs available in the market today. I read that ^ to mean as compared to "most" brands/companies, not necessarily other luxury brands of a similar price point.

Oh well.

The "10 years warranty" is not really warranty though. You get an vibrator of equal or less value at 50% of the price (this doesn't include discounted items). It's more of a marketing scheme in my opinion. Jopen would still make a lot of money even if they sold their products at 50% off the MSRP.
You can get a VR 12 from amazon for 128 dollars right now, which is almost 50% off the MSRP.
Eden has done 50% off on Jopen vibrators with the facebook friends deal before. Even without any deals coming up, if you are a reviewer on Eden, you can easily obtain a 30% off by reviewing a Jopen (or this week, you get it with wish30 coupon code), and when you make the order, you will get 5% (10% this week since it's double points weekback in points, and 5% back if you fill yourself out as an affiliate. This will save you about 40% in total off the MSRP. Buying it from Eden will also cost you no shipping, and you also don't have to spend shipping sending your old vibrator back to Jopen.
Lelo pretty much has the same issue with their "10 year guarantee".
So really, the "10 year warranty" from Jopen and the "10 year guarantee" from Lelo are both pretty much worthless.
I personally would go for Jimmyjanes if warranties are the only concern.

I also want to say that the 1 year warranty only applies to the vanity line. The intensity everyone's been waiting for has only 90 days of warranty. I honestly don't think I'd be willing to pay 250 dollars for a toy like this with only 90 days worth of warranty... Free return from Eden for up to 60 days (if Eden carries it in the future)... so the manufacturer is covering what? 30 days extra?
To be honest, I wish they had an option of paying 20-30 dollars extra to extend your warranties. That would make intensity a lot more appealing to me.
