Mia or Lily?

Contributor: JadeInBetween JadeInBetween
It's about time for a new vibrator and I've been looking around for the last month or so, trying to get a feel for what I want, and I keep coming back to Mia and Lily. I can't seem to decide between the two and the reviews are pretty even on both and haven't helped me narrow down much. I'm willing to pay for Lily, but I'd hate to pay twice as much if I'd be just as satisfied with Mia, ya know?

-I'm just looking for a good clit vibe.

-Will mostly be used solo. We're still easing into using toys during sex and usually only bring them in when I'm desperate for that one last O of the evening.

-I still have roommates, so something that won't be clearly heard out in the hallway would be best.

-I definitely want to stick with rechargeable. I'm sick of batteries and getting a weak vibe when batteries start draining. Such a waste of money.

-I've always had fairly standard bullets (on the cheaper end) or little $10 vibrators but I always use them on full power-- hopefully that gives a decent idea of what kind of power I'm looking for.

Any advice? Is one of these stronger than the other? Quieter? Have a completely different product you think I'd like better?

As a guy - I'm probably the wrong person to respond - butt...

There is a big step up from $10 to $104 for the Lily vs. the Mia at $50. Moving up in quality is definitely a good idea. There is a new product called BCurious link - that has gotten great press link - and at $80 it's a lot less than the Lily.

Happy hunting...

Honestly, I think you want to go with something stronger than the Lily, Mia or Bcurious if you like full power.

I love my Mia to pieces, but it's definitely not the strongest vibe. If you need sheer power to orgasm, it's not the best option.

It is extremely quiet, though. So power may be a small sacrifice if you really need something quiet.

If you like full power, I'm with Adriana... Mia and Lily won't be strong enough. I find the bcurious to be stronger but others have not.

The Fun Factory Sinnflut line is very strong and very quiet, though a bit larger than the petite clit vibes. Their wonderful silicone, however, makes them excellent for both internal and clitoral stimulation so it's sort of the best of both worlds.

Pricey, but absolutely worth it, IMO

I took the plunge and decided to get Mia figuring there was only one way to find out. When I got it, it had a lot of significant scratches in the surface so I wasn't too keen on using it. Before sending it back, I gave it a full charge just to see for myself how powerful it is, and you're right, I don't think it's going to be strong enough for me.

I got a Marble Slimline G as well, and I'd say it's probably what I'm looking for as far as power level. Its full power isn't necessary, but it's pretty close to what I like.

So is there anything out there with that sort of power level, rechargeable and relatively quiet? I'd prefer something smaller since I'm just looking for clitoral stimulation and I find it a little awkward using larger things that are designed for penetration.

Power level is a must, and charging capability is highly desired, but sound level and size are negotiable.

Of course something cheaper would be nice, but I'm willing to wait and save for something that will be worth it and durable.

I absolutely hate asking for advice with so many specifics, but I've been pouring through so many reviews and I just can't get a handle on power levels when half the reviews say something is strong and the other half say it's too weak for them.

So is the Bcurious near that level of power? What about the LAYAspot?

Specifics are actually good. We can help you more if you know what you're looking for. The Slim line G is great, and crazy powerful, so I really hope you enjoy it. For a simple vibe it gave me an amazing amount of feeling and is the ONLY toy that can bring me close to a g spot orgasm as of yet.

As for clit...Honestly, I am not too sure on rechargable, the only one I have is a Fun Factory click and charge style and EF hasn't begun to carry those (I am hoping they will); the downside is they are loud.

You could go for the Iconic bullet if you are willing to go for batteries. If you can layer blankets the Onye is a really great giant bullet.

The BCurious seems to have divided a lot of people when it comes to power. The sort of general consensus is it's reasonably powerful, but not earth-shaking, but will only be your sort of thing if you like really pinpoint stimulation. The LAYAspot seems to be less powerful though from the reports I've heard.

Just as a side note, the Lily has more power than the Mia because it doesn't recharge via USB (USB toys are notoriously weak). However, the Lily is more designed for penetration than external stuff and still isn't super strong - most LELO toys aren't jackhammers in that department. I'll be putting up a video review of it sometime in the next week if you're curious.

It's still relatively new on the market and pricey, but there is also the Form 2 from JimmyJane. It's rechargeable, silicone, designed for clit stimulation and from the reports I've heard so far, also nice and strong with some awesome vibration patterns thrown in.

You might like the Better than Chocolate. Though the reviews are mixed on it. I've had the Nea and the BCurious and neither was powerful enough for me. But I do like the Better than Chocolate. It is stronger than either of those but I still wish it was even a bit stronger. My next clit vibe will be the Form 2 which is supposed to be much more powerful.

I look forward to reading your review on the Form 2!

If you're willing to forgo rechargeable, try the My Mini Miracle massager. It's strong, and easy on the budget. (heck, use Eneloop rechargeables with it to make it green without sacrificing power!) It's not as small as the Lelo toys you were looking at, but the head bends enough to be comfortable and less obtrusive during sex. It's not silent, but it is on the quieter side, and it's waterproof. I've been using it in my dorm a lot since I got it, and have never had a problem with the noise.

Form 2 all the way.

It is stronger than a bullet vibe on its highest setting and it's relatively quiet. I will caution you that the "secret" setting is really a pressure activated pulsation. This can get really frustrating if you like to push on your vibrators when you really DON'T want your toy to pulsate. But I'm learning to adapt to this "feature", and it works very well with/without the pulsation (to keep a constant vibration simply lay the toy on the clit/body). And it comes with a 3 year warranty so it makes the price a little more justifiable.
