So the new Mimi II, I'm told by EF customer support, is supposed to have a new adhesive that anchors the silicone skin to prevent the bubbling issue that was so prevalent in the first generation of Mimis. I ordered my new Mimi II and was super excited to receive it. However, after the first 10 minutes of use, the entire "top" (the side with the logo) of the toy had puffed up like a balloon. I contacted Eden who said it sounds like a defective unit so I'll be sending it back and hoping the replacement doesn't have the same issue. I'm really sad. :-(

This is what has made me hesitate to get either version of the MiMi. It's good to know that the bubbling issue is at least being addressed, at least.

Supposedly it has been addressed. The CS rep was surprised to hear that the bubbling issue persists. I will repost once I get the replacement. Hopefully it doesn't bubble too or I will be really sad.

Aw I'm sad for you. My old Mimi does puff slightly, but it is bearly noticable and in fact I didnt notice it at all until I read about someone else's experience. I hope your replacement is swift! Is the new Mimi stronger or about the same power as the old Mimi?

I don't have the old Mimi so I can't compare, but someone else posted that Mimi II is stronger than her Uma so that's promising!

I hope when you get your new Mimi you let us know how it is! I'm very curious! I couln't justify buying another for myself, but as it is something that is good to suggest to others I'd like to know how it compares! All the best!

I cannot justify ordering MiMi 2 either but I am happy with the first anyway. The bubbling issue doesn't disturb me at all. I don't think it change anything on the way it perform.

I haven't had any issues like this and I'm halfway waiting for mine to puff up like a balloon but she hasn't yet.. thankfully.

I had an issue with the first MiMi bubbling and talked to Jejoue's customer service. Got my replacement today- it's the NEW MiMi with 3 buttons instead of 2. YAY! Thanks JeJoue!

Got my replacement and after charging for 2 hours, I turned it on and let her vibrate her heart out for about 10 minutes. Turned it off to check it all over and no bubbles! Happily I tried to turn it back on to NO EFFECT. It is dead. I plugged it back in but it has a solid light indicating that it is fully charged but still will not turned on. Looks like I'll be doing another return. :-(

Jeez. That really sucks. Je Joue has such a good rep, too. So disappointing to see so many people having problems.

Any chance the difficult button issue is the culprit?

My normal Mimi bubbles sometimes, but it really doesnt bother me.
Oh no! Can't believe your new Mimi is not working. Are you sure it is not locked? Try un-locking!

Mimi does not have a travel lock but I tried pressing and holding both buttons at the same time which did not work. I have no real trouble pressing the buttons at all and had no trouble turning it on at first. The button is definitely getting pressed and there is a definitive click when it's pressed but no reaction from the motor of the toy.

I'm thrilled to report that I've received my 3rd Mimi and she seems to be working perfectly, unlike her most unfortunate predecessors who have been subsequently returned!!! I've not put her to extensive use but after an initial charge and some brief test use, she does not seem to be bubbling and does, in fact, turn on after she's been turned off so she does not appear to have the problems the past 2 have had. I look forward to further testing and hope to post a review soon!

Can't wait to see your review. Is the bubbling just a cosmetic thing or does it also affect the functioning of the vibe?

Some people report that it affects function as it gets worse. I imagine that if you were trying to use the surface that was bubbling it wouldn't transmit vibrations as well. I also think that after a while the silicone might get stretched out and not shrink back down, which I think I've seen some people write about their Mimis. I ran my newest replacement for a good long time today and had no bubbling!! Very happy. Review to be posted later this week!
