Just wanted to know. I usually go for safety of the material. Which sucks because I've been seeing a lot of great looking Jelly toys. :/ What do you guys think?
Out of material, speed, safety or noise which one is most important in making your decision?

As much as noise is an issue, my biggest concern is the material. Useless having a toy that stinks so bad, that I can't use it without ending up with a migraine.
And I won't use toys that have phthalates either.

Voted other because I look for "use-ability". I have gotten toys for my wife that were too big, or too "buzzy", and, of course, she won't use them. So no mater how safe or quiet a toy is, if it doesn't get used, that doesn't make a difference.
From experience, generally, the quieter a toy is, the less stimulating it is, and noise is simply not a problem for us.

For me, it's actually the product review itself.

I would say mostly material and speed.

We disposed of ALL of our jelly toys in the past year or so and replaced them with better quality silicone or other safe materials. They simply aren't safe and I don't want to take chances with my health.
There are plenty of good well made toys in safe materials.
Of course, low pitched strong vibrations and quiet toys are also a must. Nothing worse than a cheap high frequency vibration in a loud toy.....which is then made of an unsafe material.

I take all those into account when I choose a toy, but material is definitely the most important.

I should probably be more careful about saftey/materials, but you are right. There are a lot of toys that look fun but aren't necessarily safe.

I picked speed... I thought that was the closest to POWER!!!
05/09/2011
Safety and materials are very important to me because I have a sensitivity to some products.
05/09/2011
Material is the first thing I look at when I'm looking for a new toy and is usually my deciding factor.
05/09/2011
If by speed you need vrooms, I go with that. It may be the greatest thing on Earth but if it can't get me there, I don't want it.

I suppose I look at material and speed. I won't even consider a jelly toy, and so before I even think about a toy the first thing I check is material. After material and speed I look at the function and form.

material
05/09/2011
material/safety then the reviews.
05/09/2011
Material followed by speed and then noise.
05/09/2011
material. I cant stand jelly or plastic.
05/10/2011
I know it should be material, but it's actually speed for me!
05/10/2011
Material and shape!

All other things being equal, my wife prefers toys that are more powerful, so speed. However, safety is kind of a prerequisite, we don't buy anything that is no phylate free, period.

The material then noise

Material indeed, i would never buy smelly-jelly....

wife likes speed [aka] 5 vrooms

We primarily look at good reviews, safe material, and power. All three need to be high to get us to get something.

Definitely material. I don't want to take any risks on my health when there are better options out there.
06/23/2011
Material 1st but oddly enough the order the options are in is the order of importance for me. Material, speed, safety then noise.
11/16/2011
DESIGN!
11/16/2011
Noise is often a top concern for me.

Material is a big one, and it can be a make-it-or-break-it factor, but the design of a toy and the way it looks is usually what attracts me to it in the first place.

What powers it followed by Noise followed by Material.
