Seams on silicone

Contributor: charletnarouh charletnarouh
Maybe it's just me but a seam on a premium, high-end silicone toy is a HUGE turn off. I can't help but notice that Jopen and Leaf, both high priced, high-end, luxury lines (which I believe are actually made by the same manufacturer if I'm not mistaken?) have very visible seams and when I've handled them in stores, very noticeable to the touch by my hand. If you've used any of these toys or other toys with a seam, how do you feel about these seams? Can you feel them during internal or clitoral use? The Life vibrator by Leaf, for example, which is a clitoral vibe has a seam right where I think I would press it to my clit during use and that just seems like it wouldn't be pleasant. If you haven't used any of them, do noticeable seams on a toy make you less likely or more hesitant to purchase it? I really like the design of some of the Jopen and Leaf toys but I don't know that I want to spend that much money on a toy that has what I see as a major flaw.
I also picked up one of the Jopen toys on display in a store and turned it around and noticed that the silicone was tearing around the charging port. If you own one of these toys, have you noticed any tearing or damage to the silicone around the port? I realize, of course, that the toys on display in the stores get a lot of handling and are probably handled more roughly than a toy in home use, but even so, it seems to me that if the toy was as high quality as it's price tag would suggest, then it shouldn't be showing that kind of wear.
I've seen nothing but rave reviews on all the toys in both of these lines, though the Leaf toys don't have many reviews posted yet, but these issues seem pretty glaring to me and yet, I haven't seen any discussion of them in the reviews which makes me wonder if other users just see them as non-issues?

So to recap:
1. How do you feel about seams on your silicone toys? Particularly, how have seams on Jopen and Leaf toys affected use of them for those who have used them?
2. Has anyone with a Jopen toy had problems with the silicone peeling or tearing around the charging port?

Useful topic breakdown on Silicone vibrators:

Silicone Bendable Rose
So Im currently looking at this adorable thing and im on the fence about buying it.

Has anyone else bought this?
If so what are your thoughts?

Your Preference: Regular Silicone or Dual-density?
In vibrators or dildos, which one do you prefer? Do you like simple silicone better or the dual density toys? Do you think the difference in price is.

Are there any silicone vibrators that are "softer" and yet still have a nice head on them? Which ones?
Of our three toys - I love the Butterfly Kiss which is TPR or something like that - and the ribbed lover which is jelly (but it feels like the jelly..

silicone vibes are dead to me!!!
I got the Lelo Siri yesterday, and what a letdown after the Nea. I swear I cannot get off clitorally with silicone vibes, I have the JimmyJane form 4,

Silicone vibrator enhancer - can you use them with silicone toys?
Silicone vibrator enhancer - can you use them with silicone toys? Or would the two different materials melt each other? Did anyone try them?

Thread revival time!

I hate seams, but I have never had as much of an issue with them as right now, which is why I found this thread. I got a G-Ki and the seam is absolutely excruciating! I'm not pleased with this; this is a hundred-freaking-dolla r vibrator that gets nothing but rave reviews! The least they can do is mold it properly. I don't know if I should exchange it or return it or try and shave it? Arghhhh.

Oh my. I've always thought Je Joue toys were always seamless. My MiMi is perfectly smooth and seamless. I'm so sorry to hear you're having such a hard time with the G-Ki. Personally, I'd return it. I'd be nervous about filing since it could ruin the surface of the silicone and compromise safety, but I'm a worry-wort like that.

Oh gosh, good to know that the G-Ki has a seam, now I don't want it!

Seams only bug me if they're obvious. The Ella from Lelo actually has a seam, but it's so faint that you can't feel it and can't even see it without looking closely.
