From what I was able to find online, it's a different design that is generally quieter. Though I'm still not entirely sure why it's not good for pregnant women while vibrators are fine?

While looking through the reviews someone said that the ultrasonic motor can maybe hurt or damage a growing baby's ears in a mother's womb if she uses the vibe while pregnant. At least that's what I saw.
