Vibrators on a plane?

Contributor: flamefire flamefire
I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this, but oh well.

For Thanksgiving I'm going home for a few days and would like to take my vibrator with me (which the serenity model btw link ). I'm traveling on a plane and will only be taking two carry-on bags. Since security checks are getting tighter should I reconsider and just not take my vibrator or risk an awkward scene and/or confiscation of my vibe?

Any advice or stories are appreciated.

Tough call. If you were checking a bag, I would say that there would probably be no problem. TSA might find it, but they would probably figure out what it was, and there wouldn't be any awkward scene. They might or might not let it go, I'm guessing.

A carry on is a different story, however. The X-Ray machine will spot it, and it will see batteries, motors, switches, wires and maybe even a circuit board. (There is no link to your model, so I am just speculating here on what it might be.) I think that will look kinds suspicious. That might not only cause an awkward scene, but an ugly one.

Either way, I think you are running a risk of at the very least loosing the vib, and possibly missing your flight. We have successfully taken vibs with us on planes, but that was before security was this tight.

A couple of thoughts. You could FedEx/UPS/mail it to yourself, or just buy a new one there. The new one could be shipped back to you, or if it is cheap enough, just toss it.

Hope this helps. Have a GR8 T-Day!

Being a pilot and dealing with TSA on a daily basis, I would recommend against bringing a vibrator, especially over a holiday. If anything, just bring a dildo with you, or check a bag if you really need the vibrator.

I've been hearing horror stories about the TSA lately. You probably shouldn't. If I were to bring any vibe with me on a plane I'd bring Mia and keep it with my laptop since it looks like it could be a memory stick.

I guess I won't bring it. I'm leaving in 2 hours and just taking it out of my luggage now. Its not like it won't kill me to not have it for a few days.

I'm sorry you have to choose between the TSA seeing you naked or feeling up your body, so violating.
Have a safe trip!

I've brought toys on the airplane, but only on my check ons. I don't know if I would dare bring one in my carry on. However, you normally don't have to remove cameras from carry ons so I would assume cameras look really similar to vibrators in an xray.

What Teaser said above of mailing it to yourself is a good idea!

Also, before you take the flight, you could also call someone at the airport who would know and ask if it would be okay.

I would say check it into the belly of the plane, it would avoid an embarrassing scene
