Vibrators vs. Dildos

Contributor: Morganna Morganna
As usually, I'm here with what may seem like a silly question. I don't know a WHOLE lot about sex toys and what not, I mean I'm not totally out of the loop but I don't know everything either.

What's the difference between a vibrator and a dildo...other than a vibrator vibrating?

And what's the difference between a dildo and a dong?

Hm, what kind of differences do you mean? My understanding is that a "dildo" will always be intended to replicate an erect phallus and may have veiny qualities and skin-like textures or colors that help to simulate that illusion. A "vibrating dildo" would have the same traits with a motor as an added feature. A "vibrator", then, could simply be any vibrating toy, whether it be for external use like a clitoral vibe or for internal use with it's own unique texture and shape that's inspired exclusively by the contours of the vagina rather than being a penis replica.
