I would definitely say the mystic wand, even though it's more expensive. I think it's just a better product overall.

We have the Mystic Wand and love it - but we bought it just before the rechargeable one went on sale. I recommend it assuming that the rechargeable is as strong as 4 AA batteries.

I wouldn't choose a rechargeable unless it makes good traveling sense to do so. If it does, I would go with the fairy.
