Dirty old man (or woman)

I lost a lot of fans as a writer when I mentioned a 70-year-old character being sexually active. They just couldn't wrap their heads around the fact that a sex drive existed in someone who wasn't their definition of attractive. I get the same reaction when people realize I have a sex drive and am active simply because I am fat.

Sex isn't only for the young, slender, and attractive. If there is anything I can actually blame porn on, it's the double-standard being ingrained in the consciousness concerning who is worthy of being sexually active ... which excludes anyone over forty, anyone over 130 pounds, and anyone who doesn't look like a Hollywood type.

I'm fifty two and in many ways I don't feel like I've changed that much from twenty two. My breadth and depth of experience is substantially greater and perhaps I'm more tolerant of views that differ from my own but other than that... I'm the same guy I was thirty years ago.
To give and receive pleasure with one's partner is one of this short life's greatest pleasures. Please don't waste time contemplating what "other people" think.

I like the fact that 60+ people still enjoy sex! Lordy mercy, I certainly hope that when I hit that age I still enjoy sex!
Both of my parents are still quite good looking people despite their ages and hint that they still have a very good sex life.

It's funny- I used to drop by sometimes unannounced which I admit is rude.The last time I pulled that stunt, My mom met me at the door and said "Don't you think you ought to at least give us some notice" I said Why? What else have you all got going on? She said (with a negligee on no less! and with a smile on her pretty face) Have you never heard of viagra? Needless to say--I always called before dropping by after that!
Then a few years later on--- to my surprise good ole mom told me dad had had his lunch on the kitchen counter! And No food was involved! She giggled like a school girl! My jaw dropped open-- but I was glad that she was so happy!

My grandparents on both sides (I believe) stopped having sex after having all their kids, but I could be wrong- they may not have wanted to speak of it since in their day people just didn't speak as openly about it as they do now. The only thing 1 of my grandmothers ever confided in me about sex is that she had only experienced 1 man- my grandfather.

I have no such double standards at all about seniors having sex. In fact I think it keeps them young at heart and in body. It's most certainly good excercise for them also.

Doesn't bother me one bit. Everyone wants in on a little fun/action.

I hope to still be into the things I am now, when I get to that age.

I like to hear that older people enjoy sex, it gives me hope for my future. In some ways, I hope to be better!
I was brought up with the idea that a woman's peak sexuality is at 28, since I am now 28, I don't believe it.

I think it's awesome. Sex should be enjoyed by people who are safe and mature about the situation regardless of age. I hope I can be that active when I am in my 80s and 90s. I often joke with my bf that I want to be the crazy old lady who has sex with the pool boy and will probably be pinching butts of young orderlies at the nursing home when I get old and senile!

Why should someone give up on sex and other ways of self fulfillment with age. I pray that I make it to be a dirty old man. God knows the kind of reviews I would right at that age.

It doesn't bother me at all, I hope that I will still be that sexually active when I'm older.

Uh, who cares? I guess I don't necessarily notice how old people are or care if they're 60.

Doesn't bother me at all! LOL. Now, on dating websites, it would bother me a bit if they actually went and messaged me something foul, I've gotten dirty messages from older men that I really didn't appreciate. But on here, it's really not a big deal at all.

I can see why that would put some people off, since we are raised in a society that ingrains in us the core thoughts that sexually active people are supposed to be attractive, young, etc. (maybe this is also a part of our evolution- the whole Social Darwinism bit, or maybe it's just Darwinism. Or both. A healthy mix of both.)
but you've got to think, it's the same thing with "morbidly obese" people- when you read about someone using a really hot looking toy and then find out that they're "obese," part of you may or may not get turned off (or on, ya know)
but anyways, POWER TO YA if you're "old!!" seriously. enjoy life. and orgasms are a huge part of that.
