Birth Control For Men

Contributor: sweetpea12 sweetpea12
I recently heard that they are developing a birth control device that men would take orally. I think it's a great idea. And I would totally make my guy take it. Have you heard about this??

There's also a birth control for men being tested in India with really promising results, but that one is an injection in the scrotum every 5 years.

I'll venture a guess as to say that men will be much more open to a pill than an injection, but either way I think the more birth control methods, the better!

Yeah I heard about the one from India sounds good to me, we are always getting check up down there and getting spread open and swabbed so I think they can take a needle every 5 years I would hope in my case

5 years is quite long.

Maybe I would do it if it was tested.

I've heard this before too, but never heard of it progressing. I wouldn't make my man take it or pressure him to, but if we were worried about pregnancy and trying to prevent it, I know he'd do it in an instant just to prevent me from having to be on something. I would want to weigh the cons and pros though. If it'd be safer for my health to take it -- I'd take it. However, I've been on Depo Provera due to endometriosis for around 7 years, so it's not an issue for us. Depo is a form of birth control, although there's no way in hell I'd be still on it just for birth control -- it's very bad for your health Then there's the issue of me not "being able" to carry a pregnancy to full term, but I still refuse to believe that's impossible.

It would depend on the side effects & such, but I don't see this as a bad thing. It could definitely be good!

I'm just curious how birth control for men would even work, and what it would do exactly.

they've been talking about trying to make one for like a decade, and when it's perfected, it ain't getting FDA approved for probably another decade

I do not need to, but I would definitely consider this if I were not in my current situation.
