Has any of you had this done as an adult? How long were you in pain and/or missed work?

I had a friend of a friend who had it done. I was told it was quite painful. I have also seen a documentary on men who had it done as a child and complained that they didn't have as much sensation because of it. One of the men invented a device to grow the foreskin back. As a female I have no idea but it's nice to know that if it doesn't work right, men can try to reverse it.

Oh my that sounds like a painful thing to go through as either a baby or a grown man.

My husband had it done when he was 15. He was out of school for three days.

When men convert to Judaism they must undergo circumcision. Most of them are in a moderate amount of pain for at least a day or two. But Rabbi normally asks that they stay at home and still for at least three days. Most of the men are back at the Shul by day four, walking a bit funny but defiantly feeling a lot better. By day 6 most are back to normal.

I hope this helps.

My grandfather had to have one at 50. He missed 6 weeks of work and said he was completely miserable.

Unless there is a REAL medical necessity, please don't do it.
