Just middle school and high school education for me. Beyond that it's all been experience.

I would love to take college level courses or go to adult education classes but my college doesn't offer them and I've never had the opportunity =(

Living in Mississippi, anything besides abstinence only sex ed is VERY taboo .....it's really very sad. So many pregnant high-schoolers (and middle schoolers) here.

We had classes in Jr high and High school, but all they really talked about was abstinence. They really tried to shove down our throats that sex was something that you should wait for and they only way to avoid becoming pregnant or getting an STD was abstinence. They did talk about condom usage, but briefly. I live in Ohio. And I am only 23, so that was not that long ago. What I learned about sex I taught myself. They surely did not teach us the right way.

Never had sex ed until college, when I took Human Sexuality. Terribly boring class.

High school and personal research more than anything else.

High school sex education, but my personal research has proved far more fruitful. It wasn't abstinence-only, as my teacher did inform us about condoms, although they could not be demonstrated or given out.

Middle School/Junior High, three classes in all I think - they all preached abstinence. They also told me that condoms barely worked, didn't typically prevent STDs of any kind and said something somewhere that I'd probably go to hell. They also said something about birth control being dangerous to, not only the woman using it, but also dangerous to the health of the man they're with.

Needless to say, it was a very pointless and counter-productive experience (considered I pretty much became a slut after this).

But, yeah, I have plenty of sex knowledge through experience, because the classes clearly never helped.

Seems to me it was pretty much "don't do that" from all my educators.

Basic anatomy sex ed for me, I think my mom moved me from school to school just so I did not get all the info. She forgot I had an older brother I learned early.

It's like that a lot. I'm studying to be an adult sex educator, and my focus is on "do this!" more than "don't do that!" because a lot of people aren't experienced on the pleasure aspect of sex. I feel like sex education is mostly about STDs and there is just so much more to sex than that!

In addition to getting it every year from sixth grade on in school, my mother sat me down with a kit and a video designed for middle schoolers when I was 8 or 9. She was an early bloomer (hit puberty at 10) and lost her virginity at 13 (resulting in an STD), and she wanted to make sure I was properly prepared for it.

I live in the Bible Belt, so the only sex ed was "Don't do that. Don't ask questions." Sadly, I learned everything from friends and on the internet.
