Occasional burning sensation during urination after orgasm

Contributor: Gdom Gdom
Very rarely (maybe a handful of times per year), I experience a painful burning sensation when I go to use the restroom after sex/masturbation. It's definitely not an STD (among other things, it first occurred before I had even had sex). It's not severe or frequent enough to warrant a conversation with my doctor, but it is rather odd and uncomfortable when it happens. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Happens to me. I am not a doctor, but I think it is because an erection can cause mild irritation to the urethra. There is extra blood there. You could compare it to inflammation you get after any injury. The inflammation or extra blood probably presses on the urethra or some part of your plumbing causing some slight irritation that results in pain.

It definitely is not anything to warrant concern. I have had the same thing and although painful urination is a sign of an STI, if is happens only after sex and goes away after that it is not an STI.
