Know anything about Peyronie's disease?

If you've never heard of the condition before, you can read about it HERE.

I thought it was caused by trauma, but the NIH article lists the causes as "unknown." Does anyone have knowledge or experience on the topic to share?

I don't have specific knowledge beyond what I've read. It's believed that it can be caused by trauma, inflammation, or certain drugs (beta blockers). Part of the problem is that patients often have no known history of trauma.

I have no idea how accurate this information is, but I heard that it CAN also be caused as one of the issues related to circumcision? Which would make sense, since that is considered a "trauma" just as any tattoo or piercing might be, you can get scarring from it.

I really don't know much about this disorder though.

My husband and I read about it after noticing a couple of the male porn stars had this disease. It can also be caused by using a penis ring and pump and leaving them on too long. Injury to the penis, damage during penetration (getting bent with force), getting kicked -hit or other impact to the penis shaft that might cause scar tissue to grow and bend the shaft.

My husband was diagnosed with this condition 18 months ago, I would be happy to share my/our experiences with anyone here. Just message me and I will send you my email address.

I have Peyronie's, and my urologist has told me emphatically, that it is not from ring use (I also have ED). It is an unfortunate thing, but surgery does not eliminate the calcified tissue, but merely compensates for curvature, but also can decrease length. As for my part, and my fiancé,
we just do what we can, and enjoy the MANY other aspects of sex.
