Hmmm I would only think that being on your back or on your side would be the less painful since you are not holding up any weight using your back. I would guess that the side is best, so you are not on it. What hurts currently that you have tried? Maybe look into the liberator sex furniture?

i have a herniated disc in my in my cervical spine, we use liberator pillows so i don't have to use my own strength to stay in position.

I have scoliosis, and we use a firm pillow, or a wedge and that seems to help a lot.

I have degenerative disk disease in my lower back, and I like the liberator products, and find that I am on my back or doggy a lot. those are the less painful...

Or take a pain pill before hand, sometimes it helps, sometimes not so much. but at least makes it interesting lol

good luck .

The position you need to probably be on is on your tummy...on a "Wilson frame" on an O.R. table, with a good, experienced surgeon, doing a micro disc surgery for you (there will be NO pain...since that anesthesia stuff is awesome), but the bottom line is that today, micro surgery for herniated discs is really amazing. Yes, surgery should be the last resort, but suffering should not be an option either. Make sure to stay in touch with a good neurologist and/or neurosurgeon, about your back. They can work wonders now days. Best wishes for a PAIN FREE life!!! Feel better soon.

Those Liberator pillows have been a real help with my old creaky joints and herniated disc's as well. Amazing things. SO much better then plain old pillows.
