I'm so happy to see this forum here! I am a paraplegic from a car accident in 1984. I, luckily, can have a normal sex life and have all of the feeling still in tact in those areas However, i do have a lot of people that ask me if sex is possible. I don't mind the questions as it shows me they are just curious. I discovered the possibility of toys when i was 18 and am now a full blown toy addict. lol.

thanks girls I always encourage people to ask me any questions they have. It's funny, when i was 15 and my parents found out i was sexually active their first question was "could you feel it?" lol. Talk about a strange experience for a 15 year old! I think my response was "mom!" lol

Thanks for posting this thread! I have many friends and family who are disabled and have great sex lives, most also loving their toys. Some get very strange questions also about their sex lives, but most handle them openly and shamelessly, like you do. Oh, the tolerance... I don't know if I could do it.

Nice. My friend is paraplegic and has told me that he also gets the sex possibility questions. He is limited in his sensations but maintains a healthy sex life with his wife of 10 yrs. I must admit the curiousity was there for me to on that subject. I was always reluctact to ask, so I just waited on him to bring it up. Glad to see you are open to the questions and you will be an asset to the community.

I am glad that, as a paraplegic, i am a woman. It is definately harder for men (no pun intended) that are paraplegic as far as sensations go. Never be afraid to ask someone a question, the only dumb question is one that is not asked.

I am glad that you are open enough to inform us all on how it is to be paraplegic & have a sex life. The other day I was watching an episode on TLC named "paraplegic & pregnant", I was extremely interested in learning more about people who are paraplegic given that I study in Special care counselling.

How I understand it is there's two bundles of nerves (one sensory and the other movement) in the spinal cord. If I had to choose, I'd pick multiple orgasms over walking any day. Some people lose both parts which would be super hard to cope with.
