I was on birth control for about 11 years (the pill) I tried various kinds and recently came off it for the first time in all those years and let me just say, I am shocked at how much those little pills killed my sex drive! Did anyone else suffer from their sex drive dying on birthcontrol? What kind were you on? If birth control did kill your sex drive did it return when you came off them?

I was on the Depo for years and had no sex drive. About a year after quitting it, my sex drive came back. It's been great ever since!

I've been on three different pills so far and all three have significantly lowered my sex drive.

The BC pill weakened my drive, Depo killed it. Barrier methods don't bother it, as long as I don't use Noxinal 9, because it burns.

I've been on Depo for 10 years and I would have to say that my sex drive is stronger then most men that I have been with. That said, I am also on a few steroidal medications so they may cancel each-other out.

I was on Diane35 for a few months because of hormonal problems. Didn't notice any change.

Big time. Didn't even realize it was the main culprit until I stopped taking it. I also realized it was exacerbating my depression quite a bit.
It had actually caused relationship issues.
I wish there was a birth control option that was right for me. None of them are. Sucks for me. Many women have this issue.

I think I got lucky. My partner and I have not notices a change since I went on the pill. It was something I was very concerned about when I started.

Yeah I noticed after I came off BC my moods improved drastically as well and I didnt have the 'lows' i normally got. I am scared of unplanned pregnancy but I try to be careful and always use condoms.

BC really hasn't bothered me that much. if anything, i'm not a crazy hormonal bitch, which is always a good thing. my sex drive is about the same.

While it did decrease my sex drive did not die. Also, the lack of killer cramps and shorter periods are worth it. I am fine with a little more foreplay in exchange for baby free sex.

My fiance wants me to get on birth control but I'm worried about it killing whats left of my sex drive, especially after seeing this poll! Hopefully it won't change too much.

I've only taken birth control pills briefly (they had a horrible effect on my hormones and moods), but I don't recall any increase or decrease in sex drive.

Sex drive has decreased, but I figured it was from my antidepressant, which works too well to switch off of. I started the BC around the same time though, so now this thread has me wondering...

After I restarted my birth control I did not want to have sex at all or have anything to do with sex. After the first 1.5 packs of pills I was back to normal. I even wanted to have lots of sex not sure if this had anything to do with it or if that is my normal sex drive.

Being on the pill never has affected my sex drive. I'm currently on continuous birth control, and that hasn't affected my sex drive either. I'm lucky in that respect.

Mine stayed the same but it made me feel numb. During the end of my birth control experiment, it took 2 hours of sex and jerking off to come. I was so glad it wasn't a permanent side effect.
