I usually crave Doritos or super dark chocolate. Also rare steak but I'm anemic so that may have something to do with it. Need to keep my iron levels up!

Protein. I want enormous amounts of solid protein - red meat, fish, shellfish...those kinds of things. I don't really crave sweets anymore.

I use to crave chocolate, but since being on my diet and staying away from those evils, hehe, I have noticed I've been craving carbs. I'm still very careful not to go overboard though so I don't blow my diet.

Honestly, I've never noticed any cravings or special desires during my period! I do particularly like warm foods (hot tea, soup, etc.) because it's soothing, but it doesn't matter what it is, as long as it's warm.

I really crave chocolate when I'm having my period. But, chocolate gives me a terrible migraine during my period, so I have to fight the urge to eat it.

*sigh*

I actually also crave (sorry vegans) red meat when I'm OTR. I'm slightly anemic and I feel weak during my period. If My Man makes steak and potato and we have some tomatoes (the Vit C helps you absorb more iron) and maybe some green vegetable, it makes me feel SO much better and can actually push a migraine into the background so I can function.

So, yeah, a steak is the best thing for my migraines and during my period.

That is your body trying to rebuild and replentish from the blood loss. Its awesome your body lets you know what it needs during that time. Not everyone is that way...

It is a nifty design flaw (can't think of a better word). It gives me tons of energy and keeps me in a better mood than I ordinarily would otherwise be in if I were eating things that are completely bad for me.

I think I overdosed on chocolate one month a few years ago and I just don't crave sweet things like I used to, so that's another added bonus.

I crave anything with Iron mostly. Because I am anemic. I get very weak and tired on my period. I also cramp so bad I can't move. And the IBS that comes with periods! UGH!!!! Mine is coming up in about a week too. Not looking forward to it.
