Your doctors haven't been able to come up with a suggestion that wasn't Ritalin to end the Adderall treatment? Can I as why you're so reluctant to try something else?

You can research some of the medications listed and bring those up to your doctor, and if he doesn't listen to you and your concerns then it's time to get a new doctor. There are also all sorts of message boards for people with ADD to discuss different things associated with it and different ways you can try and treat it with non prescription medication.

I've personally been on Ritalin, Adderall, Concerta, and for a while I was on Provigil to treat the ADD and depression. The Provigil is more commonly prescribed to those with narcolepsy or working swing shifts to help with awakeness and alertness, it just also happens to work well for ADD and depression. For me, it worked very well but also made me anxious all the time and I stopped taking it for that reason. The Ritalin and Concerta both made me nauseous and I lost my appetite on them. With the Adderall, I had all that and the more rare side effects of psychotic episodes, so I was switched off of that really quickly. As for now, I just try and make due but I do have a hard time concentrating most of the time. But there are other options out there for Adderall that might not affect your sex drive as much, and it is worth looking into them. less
