Birth Control

Which form of birth Control do you like best?..Personally I love the pill..Then the Male condom...Or both for "extra" protection but the pill has never failed me so I stick with it And I've never tried none of the other so I won't know how well they work..I hear the shot gives you random periods which can last for a LONG time and be very heavy....I use Sronyx Birth Control Pill and I love it!

I use Implanon which is an implant device. It's not an option on there. Love it. Had the Mirena and had tons of issues with it, so I switched over and haven't had any problems since. I did like not having a period on Mirena though.

I hate them all, but the male condom at least doesn't give me hormone based side effects.

I've only ever been on the pill and used male condoms. However, when I was on the pill, I was not sexually active, lol.

And now birth control isn't an issue with me.

This is how I feel. It's either condoms or NFP for me, but my cycles are so irregular it's hard to track sometimes.

After 2 pregnancies, both resulting in a miscarriage, I'm totally unable to conceive now due to endometriosis. I've been on an injection for 7 years except for during my pregnancies so we don't have to worry with pregnancy, unfortunately. The good thing is, we have kids that aren't biologically ours, but it helps tremendously. I don't know how we'd deal with it if we didn't have the kids. Anyways, since we're 100% monogamous in every way, both have been tested, I get tested every 6 months instead of annually because of the female problems so we're pretty safe there. No need for condoms.

I've only use the pill, the nuva ring, and male condoms. I'm really happy with the pill I have now, but the ones I had before this were terrible.

I been using the pill for years. Only time I got pregnant was when I stopped using them. All three times, I had stopped completely! I love the pill, I just set my cell phone to go off everyday at 8pm and I am good to go. Sometimes I am a little late, if I am not at home. However I still have yet to miss a day.

My hubby and I use the male condom, withdrawal, AND rhythm. We don't want to take any whacked-up-hormones business, and there's a vasectomy in our near future

My husband had a vasectomy years ago, so birth control has not been an issue. However, I have take the Pill for birth control, and I currently take it to treat some hormonal issues I've had. I have no issue with taking the Pill.

I used the Pill for years, I've also used a diaphragm, male condoms (well, guys have) the Sponge, Depo Provera, spermicides; cream, foam and suppositories, Natural Family Planning and Withdrawal.

Due to migraines I can no longer use hormonal forms of BC, I can't use a diaphragm or spermicides due to UTIs and vaginal infections, Natural Family Planning failed repeatedly. So, we use withdrawal. It works well for couples who are fluid bonded, dedicated to each other and where the man has good ejaculation control and is willing to participate in the method. It is actually as effective as condoms, if used properly. Even Planned Parenthood recommends it for selected couples.

We have used the pill but I am always freaked out about messing around with hormones and chemicals. I am so concerned that taking something like that will get my wife sick or something in the long run. We are re-evaluating the options lately.

That is a really good way to remember to take you Pill. I will have to remember that if I give the birth control talk at our local High School this year. I may also mention it to some young girls I know.

Great idea!

Something about the hormones in the pill really screw my system up, I have gotten pregnant (and miscarried) three times while on the pill! I tried the Nuva Ring, but had issues with getting it far enough "up" that my partner didn't "win a blue ribbon" during sex. That is an interesting discussion to have the first time it happens, let me tell you!

If/when we are concerned with preventing pregnancy, we stick to the old stand-by "male" condoms. But that isn't very often (mostly when one of us is starting a new med for BP or something).

The hormones in the pill made me sick even when they reduced the strength and put me on the "low dose"

I said IUD, but really mine is an "other". I have an Implanon, which is the strongest one available right now. It's inserted into the underside of your arm, right beneath the skin. It lasts for 3 years, and puts out hormones just like any other birth control. I have period about once a year now, and have never had a pregnancy scare. I'm due for another one in a month, and will probably continue to use them until my man gets back from Iraq and we decided to try for babies. I seriously recommend the Implanon. It's awesome. And you can start trying to get pregnant like 24 hours after it's removed and you're SUPER fertile. People get pregnant so fast when they get it taken out.

I tried birth control and it screwed with my epilepsy, so now we rely on pulling out and use condoms if I'm ovulating. I keep very close track of my cycle to try to avoid any mishaps.

Male condoms
Pill
Shot!

Not all at once! I tried the shot, and had to stop taking it. I personally am a big fan of the pill. I only really use condoms during the first 30days of starting a new pill. After the first 30days we no longer use condoms.

I told him to get a vasectomy. Problem solved!

Not to sound sexist, but us women are on a delicate hormonal balance. I don't want to end up on hormones due to an operation on my woo! I took the pill, the shot, the ring, female condoms, used film and foam; nothing works better than this! I even tired the method using my discharge as a marker for my ovulation...and I got pregnant. I already have a small tribe of kids (4 of my own and he has 2 with an ex out of state), I am done with pregnancies.

I guess I prefer the pill to most other forms I have used, but I recently have acquired a pill binder allergy, so I can no longer take it. We are doing fertility tracking, timing, natural family planning, etc. But honestly, if we get pregnant its pretty okay with us...just a few months earlier than we planned.

Male condoms and pills until a little over 20 years ago. After three children, vasectomy was our choice. No pills, no condoms, no worries, sensuous, luscious, flesh on flesh sex.
