I do a monthly self-check, but Alan has his hands on my breasts enough that he's sure to know if something feels different, and he knows what to pay attention to and to tell me if he notices anything. So I guess you could say I've got an all month long monitoring system (lol).

Estrogen has been touted as the main culprit in breast cancer formation so I watch what I eat when it comes to meats and dairy since our illustrious government still thinks it's ok to allow hormones in food-destined livestock. We only buy things that are labeled as being organically raised with no hormones or other nasties in them. Actually we eat a lot of organically grown everything. I also avoid soy since some research says that it mimics estrogen in the body, but the jury is still shaky on that one. There are a few researchers who say that soy only mimics estrogen only to the extent that it doesn't make the body create more, so it may turn out that avoiding soy isn't a good thing after all.

Last but not least Alan avoids getting too rough with my breasts when we're playing. There have been several reports of women developing breast cancer after having direct trauma to one (and that's why some doctors are saying smashed boob mammograms can be dangerous too) so mine only get love

Had my first mammogram this year. All clear! I usually do monthly self checks too.

I have had cancer already (not breast), so I am very aware of prevention techniques!

I have compromised health to begin with, so I'm careful to eat a lot of veggies and exercise. And my partner drags me to physicals and the like. And it's very important to pay attention to family medical history!

I do a monthly self-check, and I always look all ingredients of anything I use up on EWG's Skin Deep Cosmetics Database before I use it. I also avoid certain materials like the plague.

I TRY to eat healthy and I regularly exercise. I also breast fed my babies so that decreases my odds a little and I don't smoke or use drugs, but came from a family that did smoke so second-hand tobacco must have done some harm. Like Michelle said earlier my hubby's a breast man so he'd notice if something was different with them for sure.

I'm glad to see everyone has partners with helping hands. So hands off to our sidekicks in breast cancer crime fighting! I'm at a loss for a third hands pun to wrap up my set of three... Can anyone give me a hand?

I check regularly. My husbands hands are on them enough to know if there is something there also. I do have rather large breast, and it can be hard to feel all over. I have a family history of all sorts of female cancers. I am trying to make sure I am healthy. However at the same time, being prepared for me to be told I have one of them, by age 40. There is not a single woman on either side of my family that has not had cancer. Mostly cervical and uterine cancer. All my female relatives had to have full hysterectomies by the age of 35to40.

Aw I should have selected "Other" too cause I'm sure it counts that I bug my family members about getting their checks done too.

I do self checks, I have a pretty good understanding of my family's medical history and I avoid chemicals and what not when I can, I also stay far away from hormonal birth control.

My husband knows my breasts better than I do and performs checks every two weeks. I check every week and I go to my physician every two months for a physical check up from a car accident and she will check my breasts. One of the long term residuals from the car wreck was impact related cysts in my left breast, 28 of them, and she needs to keep an eye on them and check them for irregularities. I had cancer about 10 years ago and am worried about getting it again.

Since we all know that men can develop breast cancer as well, does anyone help return the self-check favors with the guys in their lives?

I do frequent checks and my partner knows every cubic inch of my boobs so anything different he will also know.

My concern is enjoying rough play with my boobs and nipples, might back off on some of this.

I feel myself up enough that I'm pretty sure I'd notice something. But, I also participate in a healthy lifestyle and make sure that eat healthy and exercise frequently just to stay in overall good shape.

I do monthly self-exams. I alsotry to limit my exposure to chemicals in personal care products that are linked to cancer and generally maintain a healthy diet.

I do actually. He thinks there is no point to check. So instead I do it without him even noticing it and thinking it is foreplay.
