I would certainly think so!! I used to get them horribly until I started hormonal birth control. I always took excedrin migrane for mine

I don't get them when I ovulate but my period cramps can be horrible.

The medical term for it is Mittelschmerz. It's fairly common.

I used to get it pretty bad, I also had very severe dysmenorrhea. I was in agonizing pain twice a month. I started hormonal birth control to treat them both and no longer get the Mittelschmerz and now my cramps can be handled by over the counter pain killers.

I had them bad when I first started and was put on the pill. Then they stopped making the one I took and now I get cramps again. Sometimes it's like someone is stabbing me but nothing like when I was younger and got them so bad at times I skipped school or could barely walk upright
