Anyone ever tried it??

I was on it, and i gained weight and had mayjor body pains because of it. When i got off of it everything went away like overnight!

I did LOVE not getting my period for 3 months lol
(because you get it every 3 months)

Anyone else had any problems with the depo??

Or did you just love it?

I was on it for a year (back when I was 18) and it has totally fucked up my cycle ever since.
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!

I hated it. I had to use it for treatment for endometriosis after surgery. I didn't get a period for a year and a half. But, I was depressed, I gained 40 lbs, (which is a LOT on my tiny frame) and I lost my sex drive.

My Man and I made jokes that Depo is such a good form of birth control because the woman never wants to have sex. We went well over a week and a half once without having sex, and I didn't even notice! Finally he said, "Are we living like brother and sister now, or what?" I was stumped, when he told me how long it had been since we'd had sex I couldn't believe it. The idea of sex was deleted from my mind and my body when I was on Depo.

I know it works well for some women, but it was nightmare for me.

My drive came back with a vengeance about 3 months after my last shot, but I didn't get a period for, I think about 6 months after the last shot. I got pregnant with our youngest child within a year of stopping Depo.

Liked it at the time because I didn't get my period, but it messed with my body. Thinner hair, osteopenia, NO sex drive AT ALL. I would never again recommend the Depo. I was on it for 9 years and have been off it for 5....best 5 years ever!

I liked that I didn't have to worry about a period. But if I could go back and do it again, I'd never be on it. Completely losing my sex drive, gaining 30 pounds in 9 months, and having to be tested repeatedly for osteoporosis is not worth it to me. The only reason I had a somewhat regular cycle after the Depo is because I only took a month off and went right onto the pill. My sex drive still hasn't fully recovered, and I've been off of Depo for 3 or 4 years now.
