OK so I have never had this happen two kids both planned so far. But about four days ago I had my hubby stop and get me a pregnancy test, here's where it gets weird, I took the test and nothing happened like right away the not prego thing normally shows up. So I figured its a dud, well five hourslater my husband (pale faced) hands me the test, faint possitive line and the other it worked line appeared. So me in a panic ran up (we planned on being done) took both tests that were left. Negatives... now here's my thought a. its a dud b. I used morning urine and it is positive c. idk so here's my question.... has anyone else had this happen? Did you turn out to be pregnant? Is there such a thing as a false positive?? I'm planning on taking g another in a week well 3 days since its been 4 since the test...

False positives are almost unheard of, almost. False negatives are much more common. However, the directions in the box say most results are invalid after a certain period of time; I can't remember exactly what it is but I think it's an hour. I would wait a few days, then test again or make an appointment for a blood test at your physician's office.

I went and pulled out the instructions in the pregnancy test I have in the bathroom. So according to these directions the answers are no longer valid after 10 minutes. So, your positive might not be valid. You should retest in a few days, but be sure to use your morning pee, however if you can hold it for at least four hours, this is equal to the morning urine.

Stormy is right though, usually when it's positive, your pregnant, but in your case, your results aren't accurate enough to say. You have to retest.

they can happen, but home test are just a first step. you should see a doctor, they can give you some blood work and tell for sure.

It's called an evap line. Only read it within the time frame. Blue dye tests are more likely to have this happen. Use one with pink dye.
