I too am a surviver of not just rape but being molested at age3 and 4. My oldest daughter is the product of a date rape. I understand the issues involved with sex after a sexual assault. Years of therapy and a very supportive husband has brought me to a place where I'm comfortable talking about sex as well as being free of hang ups in the bedroom. I found that when I got comfortable with masturbating alone I was free to find a partner who made me feel secure in bed. Slow, very very slow process to over come mental sex issues. I still find that I sometimes feel awkward or the thought of sex makes my skin crawl but I push myself through it.

Good luck and Best Wishes to you concerning this problem. I really am sorry that this happened to you. On a side note you will be free of jury duty concerning any kind of sexual assault/ rape cases. I was taken off the list several years ago along with the promise never to be called again because I made it quite clear that all offenders should be put to death. They can not be rehabilitated so putting them back on the street only gives them another chance to victimize someone else not to mention better understand and ways not to get caught. I hope your attacker was caught and put away. None of my abusers were punished in any way and I have always hated that (they are both dead at this time which helped me recover a little quicker though except for my daughters father that is)
