"Pink Card" - Free Birth Control?

Contributor: sweetpea12 sweetpea12
I heard about something called a "pink card" yesterday. Apparently it's this card given by the government that gives you free "women's health care"... I am interested in getting one, and I really don't have any information on it. Do you know what it is, and how I can get one?

I get coverage from the state for reproductive health issues, which does include my birth control, so I suspect you'd need to check out your state's benefits. One area you might start with is by contacting PLanned Parenthood or local reproductive health clinics like that. They certainly deal with that and could probably tell you where to apply or get more information. In fact, when I went into my local family planning, they had computers set up right there and I applied.

If you don't have one, I'd ask your regular doctor.

Since your profile says you're from IL (hello southern neighbor!), this might help: link

I think that may be something just for Illinois residents.... I would apply for medicaid family planning if it is available in Illinois.. u can go online and apply I just did and got approved a few days later.. of course it is income based so I am not sure about your income but if your like me and don't have much coming in you can probably get approved. It pays for birth control or getting your tubes tied, condoms, and pregnancy related things. Also if you have children then can get coverage as well. I just searched and found the application link for what you are talking about says you can apply online as well.
