I've heard that sex can help with cramps, but my experience is that orgasms are very painful just before and during my period. Anyone else?

To clarify, what I mean by "painful" is, for me, I get really horrible cramps following the orgasm that last from 1-10 minutes. It makes the orgasm not worth it. Which sucks for me because I'm about as horny as I get before and during..go figure.

It's weird. If I already have cramps, they go away. (I get those horribly painful, can't walk straight cramps.)

If I don't have them and I'm really close to or have just started my period, I get them, but only for a few minutes at a time.

I have the same experience. Not so much before, but the first few days after I start.

Most of the time if I have an orgasm during my period it makes my cramps go away. However, I can think of at least one time where the contractions from my orgasm actually made my cramps a little worse

I've never had any problems with that before. Sex has always helped my cramps.

I have an orgasm much easier right before my period, but they are never painful...

For me orgasms aren't as good during my period but they do help sooth cramps and general discomfort.

if i have an orgasm & then get slight cramps for a few minutes afterwards, that is usually an indication that i'm about to start my period.

Orgasms help with some of the discomfort during my period. I find it is more difficult to reach orgasm at that time though.

When I was having sex with men, I avoiding sex during my period. Now that I am with my girlfriend, I still avoid having sex during my period, unless it is clitoral only.

Orgasms usually help my cramps out a lot. It relieves them a lot. I have had it make them worse a few times, but more often than not, masturbating a few times when my cramps first hit, helps me out a lot.

However, usually a few days to a week before my period, I'm insanely horny but usually can't orgasm. It's frustrating.

I've never had a problem with orgasm before my period. I dont have sex or masturbate during, so I wouldn't know. I don't think it should hurt.

I said "other", because no they are not painful at all, they are AMAZING. Helps with cramping, makes me feel great. Sometimes, I will get some crampy feelings for a minute after, but then my cramps go away for the day pretty much completely.
