How long after giving birth did it take for your sex drive to come back? I had a friend who was dying for it the day after giving birth and ended up not being able to wait the recommended amount of time for it. Personally my sex drive didn't return back to me until my daughter was around eight months old, and the very little sex that I had before that time was either incredibly painful or I was unable to cum.

Did anyone else out there have a really low sex drive like I did after childbirth?

It was about a week for me, we never made it to the recommended time. But, I had easy births and had no tearing or anything, so maybe that's why it was easier for me.

I don't think it's uncommon for it to take a while after childbirth to get your sex drive back though.

I think I've been exceptionally lucky. After the birth of both of my children my husband and I went back to having sex well before the recommended "waiting period". We waited twelve days after my daughter was born (vaginal birth, no tears, just a few abrasions), and sixteen days after my son was born (c-section; yes, I popped a Percocet beforehand!).

With the first pregnancy, we barely made it a week. We used condoms and went really slowly. It was still really tender, so we wound up doing mostly manual stuff and dry humping, gently, until a couple weeks later.

I don't think we managed to ever make it to the 6 week mark, but every woman is different. Our bodies respond to those hormone fluctuations differently.

I was dying to fuck him about two weeks after. I was scared to though because I was still bleeding. We waited until 4 and a half weeks after. I didn't go to my 6 week check up because I didn't want to be touched anymore by any gynecologist (and still refuse to go to any gynecologist no matter what) and we were absolutely fine. I know my body better than anyone else anyway. So does every person, in that regard.

omg, during pregnancy, my sex drive was dead, after, it took about a week to comeback, but that was mostly due to bleeding and general soreness from giving birth.

i've had 3 kids, with my boys it was months after. with my daughter, i was one that couldn't seem to wait til the recommended time, but i did wait. My husband is one that is patient enough to wait til the healing process is over and then a little after to be sure.

technically 5 days after i had son, i did oral on him. but regular intercourse? 21 days after son was born, which is how baby # 2 was born lol. i had son 6 wks early in dec 2007 and had daughter 37 wks in oct 2008. they are 10 months apart and are 2 and 3 yrs old now.
