The pill has kept the acne and cramps at bay. I'm fairly certain it's never affected my libido.

When I was on the pill it didn't do anything but make my periods lighter. Although I might have to get back on it to basically regulate my cycle because its all the place.

the pill made me depressed, gave me yeast infections, and put me at an even higher risk of breast cancer, which thanks to my genes, i am already very predisposed to.

i use the rhythm method and coitus interuptus.

I've used the "patch" and the "nuva ring", both of which caused my blood pressure to skyrocket. Right now I'm on Loestrin pill and I've had the lightest periods ever.

BCP's are frequently prescribed where I work for acne in place of antibiotics, laser or Accutane. In many cases, this works well for mild acne, and 50/50 for moderate acne. Severe acne, though, I haven't seen much success at all.

For obvious reasons, I've never been on the pill, but I did have a friend who was on the Pill, not because she was having sex, she wasn't, but just for the acne thing.

I just started Nuvaring a month ago, and although it's helped my acne a bit, it's making me crazy. I can't eat things I used to like and I keep crying for no reason. >.>

I was on the pill for severe cramping and it didn't affect my acne noticeably. It did, however, give me migraines, raise my blood pressure, and put me in the E.R. with a near-stroke. I'm now off the pill though I am paying for it with permanent medical issues.

I personally think it's irresponsible of doctors to recommend hormone replacements for something as cosmetic and petty as acne. It does so much other stuff to your body that I think it's just better to get some prescribed topical medication or perhaps one of those cool dermatologist microderm cleanings.

There is! I dont know if its a pill or not, but I seen an ad for it when my husband and I were researching vasectomys...

I was on the pill and not only did it make my acne worse.. but it made me constantly bloated and have a non-stop period.. it was lighter and I didn't cramp hardly at all.. but still. It got old fast. the doctor said it should clear up and be back to normal after one month of use... I tried it for 2 months and quit taking it.
I tried several different birth controls after that but they all did the same thing. So we just stuck with condoms til we were done having kids. Then my husband got a vasectomy.

I used to have bad cystic acne and when I got on birth control it cleared up almost completely. Granted, I'm on the highest legal dose on the market right now and I'm not taking it for my acne. It is a pleasant side effect though.

I'd never take the pill, too many chances it wouldn't work. (random sleeping schedule here). I enjoy my Depo. over anything else (except sterilization). But it did clear up my acne at first, now it triggers breakouts directly after the shot and a little bit before it. Thankfully, I had a nympho sex drive before the birth control, so killing it didn't hurt me too badly. @_@ I wonder what I'll be like when I get off of this in ~6 months.

I am on the pill and it did help clear up my acne some. I also had the same results when I was on it as a teenager. Never got rid of it completely, but helped. I've never had terrible acne though.
