I am a healthy 28 year old woman. I have a normal cycle and am perfectly capable of conceiving. I have one child.

I have been using no contraception other than the pull out method for close to 3 years with my current partner.

We don't take ANY other precautions, no condoms, no avoiding sex during my expected "fertile period", nothing.

Honestly, I'm almost surprised this method never failed me.

I want some honest opinions on feelings about using this as a sole method of birth control.

We don't think it is a safe method of contraception. Might pull out a milli-sec too late. Also the fellow can be having so much enjoyment, he will want to finish inside. We have done the pullout method before though. She would finish me with her hand.

Would your opinions on it change if it was a consistent male who never waited to pull out and always did so at least a full minute before ejaculation?

If it is working that's great. I did practice this method before. My third wonderful child was conceived using this method. I was using condoms but didn't really like them. It only took the one time I did pull out in fast enough. We have no regrets. Already had 2 boys and then finally a girl !

I have to agree with Oriental husband on this one. Being that guy that is enjoying it, I also don't feel it safe for my situation. We have no children and want to keep it that way. I know that I can't be relied on to withdraw at the right time, so knowing that about myself, its back to the trusty condom.

Oops, I forgot to answer your question. No, my opinion wouldn't change. I will say this, if it is working for you, then keep doing it but just be careful. If you don't want children, like me, then have a back up plan.

My feeling is you will miss the biggest experience in life if you don't have children. Just my opinion of course.
