The tilted cervix.

Contributor: Elaira Elaira
When I was 18, my gyno told me I had a tilted cervix, but didn't tell me anything about what that meant or any problems I could face. I searched on the internet, but haven't found much info.

I do remember reading that a tilted cervix could impact later-term pregnancy, and could lead to bed rest. I also know that certain positions are uncomfortable for me because the tilt in my cervix makes my vagina a slight bit shallower than most others.

Does anyone else have this problem? Have you read anything about it? Had any complications?

This is interesting, I had never heard of a tilted cervix. I have heard of a tipped uterus, which in extreme cases can cause some problems with fertility and delivery; I can't find any actual statistics on it.

Searching the internet for "tipped uterus" yields a lot more results and the general consensus seems to be that it was no more difficult (nor easier) to conceive or deliver for a woman with a tipped uterus than a woman who has the "designated ideal positioning of the uterus and cervix".

I have a tilted uterus, but don't know anything about a tilted cervix, and it didn't have any impact on my pregnancies.

I don't but my mother does. She said it made some of her periods uncomfortable but she managed, and yes, it can cause complications with GETTING pregnant as well as miscarriage. She delivered a child full term and fully healthy, then miscarried at 8 months her two twin baby girls. It's hit or miss with pregnancy, but aside from that, and some cramping here or there not during the time of her periods, she said she never really had any other complications with it. And this was a long time ago so I'm sure now medicine for this has improved. I think my friend has a tilted cervix (it may be uterus I'm not sure) and she had to have all 3 kids via C-section

I have a tilted uterus. Not sure if that means my cervix is tilted. I had no problems conceiving or delivering either of my babies.

I have a tipped uterus, but I know nothing about tilted cervixes. I have no idea how much it may or may not be tipped. I haven't had a lot of pain during periods, although trying to conceive hasn't come up yet so I have no idea about that aspect for myself.

I know I have an ovary they had trouble finding on an ultrasound once. It was apparently lower than it should have been. Perhaps my whole reproductive system is out of whack.
