Vulva/ Pubic Area Pain?

Contributor: aliceinthehole aliceinthehole
have any of you experienced prolonged intense pain in the vulva or pubic area, brought on by touch or tugging?

okay so i'm putting my own oddness on the table...

i have pubic furs. and every now and then i'll find myself touching them. alright we're on Eden, alot of us masturbate, right. but i mean just as a casual sitting in my house nobody around, tugging at my pubic hairs thing. yes, i'm weird, i know.

but it hurts! it hurts kind of in the way that tugging at a loose tooth hurts... an odd but good pain. but it definitely hurts.

now i know if you pull the hair on your head or arms it will hurt, but this is much more pain, and more prolonged after tugging stops. it's a sharp pain that occurs even when grabbing a fistful of hairs and tugging very lightly, or even just rubbing a hand over the mons. i mean, is that even normal?

have you ever experienced this? was it with or without pubic hairs?

are my pubic hairs yelling at me to stop touching them? what the heck is up with this?

I've had a few weird pains in that area, but nothing similar to what you're describing.

When I used to have hair, I did notice my hair follicles getting tender if I'd tugged on them or brushed them (I was a weird kid) often. Maybe they just need a break?

The first time I read this I was more focused on the vulva thing, but after seeing Ryuson's post and thinking about it again, I get a similar kind of thing with my head hair. My hair follicles will ache. It's really bad when I take my hair down from a ponytail, so I avoid wearing them. It will also happen if I'm playing with my hair, or if I run my hand through it and some hair gets flipped to the other direction than it was originally laying, but sometimes it just happens randomly. Everyone always seems to think it's weird when I say my hair hurts, so I don't think most people get that problem. My pubic hair is currently shaved, but I never had any issues with the hair hurting there when I used to not shave it either.

I am pretty certain it is tender hair follicles. I notice this same feeling when my hair (admittedly on my head) gets a bit more wax buildup than usual.

Have you been tested for bacterial vaginosis? Sometimes the vulva cen be irritated by the discharge and it causes weird and prolonged pain when the hair is pulled. I get weird symptoms when I have BV which I have developed with increasing frequency since BC pills changed my body chemistry.

Can't say I've had the same experience.

i dont' really tug on them so often, though it may've sounded like that. maybe a couple times a day... i guess like a dude, my hand will just wander down there. but like even touching it... ow.

i do have BV! what the hell. you're a genius. that must be it.

i need to go to the gyno. it's expensive, but i need to just bite the bullet. thanks for that little extra nudge.

i went to planned parenthood for it 3x and they gave me antibiotics... which didn't phase it.

so i'm going to the gyno. i'll try to make an appt tomorrow. thank you so much!

alright, so i did some online research and found the following over-the-counter treatments for BV.

-douche of 1tsp vinegar in 1 qt water
- douche called Betadine which is povidone iodine
-lactobacillus acidophilus - in vaginal suppository or oral cap form
-eating yogurt
-BV OTC treatments by the name of RePHress and Femigel

sweet. i'm headed to kroger tomorrow. thanks so much again airen wolf. and if anyone gets on here and thinks, damn i know EXACTLY what you're talkinga bout, my vulva hurts too... check out some of the above treatments. i'll let you know how they work for me.

If BV isn't the culprit, Vestibulodynia may be.

If you click on the word it will take you to a link describing it. It sounds weird and rare, but I actually know a few women with this condition, and I experience pain similar to it, but not chronically like Vestibulodynia.

Hope this helps!

Oh, and I play with my hairs down there all the time too. It seems to comfort me in an odd sort of way. =)

I'm a bad "hair puller" and pull hairs from my head. I also like tugging on my pubes ( I shave once every 2 weeks so they only get to about 2 cm) Sometimes there is a little pain, especially on the outside of the labia majora where it meets the inner leg.

my best guess for you dear is you've got yourself an ingrown hair.

I hope your trip paid off and you have fixed the BV issue.

If I had my hair going in one direction and then move it in another direction it can hurt. Not sure if that's what kind of pain you're talking about...

I occasionally tug, myself. I think it's the equivilant of a guy resting his hands in his pants. Not so much as strange as you make it sound. However, I don't have the pain.
