What to expect with Paragard?

It will hurt, depending on your pain tolerance. From all the posts i had read they said it would feel like a strong cramp but i was just in a lot of pain. But the doctor was really nice and the nurse was so sweet and held my hand and had me do breathing exercises to get through the pain, then i was sore for like a week after insertion. I usually didn't have bad periods before i went on the paragard but my first one (only had one so far) was pretty brutal cramp wise and i bled a lot more than i ever had before. But i like it so much more then the pill, i don't have to worry if i forgot to take it which in turn i then don't have to worry if I'm pregnant from a late period. So it's just a huge weight off my shoulders. Just bear with the pain and you'll be so happy after.
