Originally, I got on it because I would miss so much school because of how bad my cramps were. I then stayed on it so that it would change my super heavy 7 day long flows to 3 day spottings every 3 months and no baby.

I was on The Pill for ages - the main reason was to lighten the pain and flow of my period. At one point it did cause a cyst on my left ovary (didn't feel it), but it's vanished again. Didn't really need it for actual birth control while married, as my ex didn't have a libido, although it helped when we separated and I ended up in a friends-with-benefits (definitely did NOT want his kid).

I had my tubes tied a year ago, so that's my only form of birth control now. My period seems to have settled into something more reasonable, too, so I'm no longer on The Pill ... although a few people are asking me to get back on it since they say I get emotionally unstable during my period. >_>

I haven't been on birth control pills for almost a year but in the past I was on them to help with cysts and Endometriosis. They didn't really help in either case but they raised my blood pressure so I had to come off them.

My partner and I aren't in a place where having kids would work. I'm still in school and he only works at a grocery store right now.

I don't want kids, ever. Also, my IUD makes my period from hell not happen anymore, and I have fewer ovarian cysts since I had it installed, which was an unexpected bonus.

I don't want kids, now or ever. When I used to take the pill, I loved the added benefit of being able to plan my period, but now that I have an IUD I really don't have a period anymore and I LOVE IT. I may have a few days of spotting or maybe one day of light flow every couple months. The IUD also means I have less of the annoying hormonal side effects. The high dose pill made me insane.

After 15 years of having my tubes tied, I just started taking it as a starting point to controlling my hormonal headaches.

Right now isn't the best time for me to get pregnant and that is why I go on it in the first place. I also like knowing when my period will be. I just started cycling my pills too so I don't have one every month.

I don't physically TAKE birth control, but I have an IUD. I have three beautiful daughters and feel mostly done having children. The IUD isn't something I have to remember or even think about. I have enough going on with a busy family and life to worry about that. Plus, no period for me! I love that aspect of it! It saves money and helps with cramps and mood swings. I love my IUD and will get another one when this one runs out.

For the no babies benefit! I also have been on it for 8 years now (wow, I got old), and I don't even remember what it's like to not know exactly when I'm going to be getting my period to pretty much the day and time of day. I like the stability.

Originally due to pain. Now, its to prevent a second child. We have our little girl and that's perfect for us!

As soon as I could, I had an IUD put in, after having my son. We knew that we weren't rushing to have another one, and since I was breast feeding, it was the safest thing. I say safest thing, because I'm terrible about remembering when to take pills on a regular basis. Especially when I was a zombie mom, breastfeeding around the clock.

I went on it for heavy periods and cramping due to endometriosis. I am no longer on it because of the side effects though.

To prevent pregnancy, and to regulate my periods. Before I started the pill, I was taking pregnancy tests every month just to make sure I hadn't gotten pregnant despite the other methods I was using.

I'm not currently on birth control, but when I am on it, it's to regulate my period and to prevent me from getting pregnant.
