Links - instructions.

OK. It's time. I love links in reviews, comments, and especially the forum. Only I want names on the link as where I'm going. It's actually pretty easy, but takes a bit of knowledge.

You need left and right square brackets. The left one looks like this. " [ "
(If that doesn't show up- it's on the same key as curly brackets only those are shift, and look like this. " { "
You need your space bar.
You need a vertical line. I had trouble finding that initially. It is located about the "enter" key" on the "\" button and looks like " | " (I'm hoping that shows up as well.

syntax for a link is as follows.

left bracket
space
link
space
vertical line
space
text name that you want to show up as the link NAME
space
right bracket

The syntax is the same syntax that you use for links in reviews. Eden has a good pop-up there if I can't make this post show all the details because of the way the html gets read.

Sienna, Glad you appreciate it. I mostly posted out of general irritation yesterday. (It was a crappy day.) I found another post with "link" in pink and went UGH...

Adriana- You're right. The browser probably reads xhtml or css or style sheets these days, but anyone that actually knows what the browser reads would be beyond the post itself. (That's beyond me actually.)

Thank you thank you thank you
I've noticed regular HTML doesn't work on this site (like in our profiles)... but it's not like I know a whole lot of HTML anyway!

Now that you bring it up. Is there any way to add a new paragraph in our profiles. I'd love to do a little more with mine, but it looks terrible as one jumbled massive paragraph.

That's going to have to be a new thread... I don't know if it will get attention it deserves here. I don't know, but it's beyond our control. One trick would be a "link" to your profile on your blog though with more information. That might work. I haven't tried it.

Links do not work in profiles using this syntax.

DBD
you are a genius. I just managed to post a link using your syntax, and I have to admit I was dubious about getting it right. But there you go; it popped right up.

Thank you!
