Have you ever made your own bondage toy? What was it made out of? Was it cheaper to build then to buy it already made?

things I have built and the aproximate cost.
Flogger, leather- $5 of scrap leather much cheaper to make
Flogger, rope - $2 - took a old and soft nylon rope and unlayed the fibers
under construction
Sex swing- about $40- simple frame made of 2x4s and saw horse brackets. I will be testing for strength and stability shortly

Certainly... just using anything around to tie someone down counts right. Old fabric. Used old lanyard chains as well.
Ooo and its obviously easy to just use old clothes for blindfolds and gags.
And lastly, an old wooden spatula has been my spanking tool of choice for years.

Not sure if this counts, but my boyfriend uses his belt to bind my wrists sometimes. It's actually really sexy. <3

Broke a belt that way a few years back. Make sure it's not one you care about.

Those long ties that people get for their trucks make excellent restraints.

Spreader bar. Cheap and easy to make. Wooden dowel with screw eyes in each end.

A friend is making me leather wrist and ankle cuffs. High quality leather 2 inches wide for the actual straps, and an overlay of 1 inch wide leather to secure d-rings with a buckle closure. Mine are going to have a felt padding with satin laying over it which will contact the skin. I'll let you all know how they turn out. All in all, the leather wasn't too expensive, and about the hardest part of it is sewing through it, but even that isn't terribly difficult. At the very worst, holes can be pre-punched prior to sewing, rather than using a standard sewing awl.

Sounds like they will be very comfortable. I would love to see the finished product. Can you post pics?

Mmmm, duct tape~ It can shut up a mouthy sub, be worked into any number of things. Not my first suggestion, but always a favorite.

No, but I'd like to! I'd love to see links if anyone knows of any.

I'm making handcuffs out of denim and fleece fabric, velcro, D rings and other miscellaneous materials

Hubby made an under the bed restraint system with medium eye hooks that screw into the bottom of box springs and we use our ropes with them. The ropes are put away when not in use and no one is the wiser and it works great!

Pervertables are the best toys! Most kitchen sections are full of make shift paddles, army navy stores are full of potential restraint toys, and of course there home depot, a creative kinksters dream.
I have also made my own floggers out of satin type beading cord with the ends dipped in tool dip. They pack way more bite than you would think.

I bought a leather skirt at Goodwill for $3, cut a hunk off a broom handle and used some tacks and upholstery nails with some glue and thread to build a flogger. Braided handle and 16 inch tails. I have enough left to make a twin if I can find the time. It came out really well, and she really liked it. Great how to on the Abraided Leather site: How to build a flogger

I made a leather and wood flogger not too long ago. In total it cost me about $10bucks.
