I would use a kit but just making something on my own doesn't sound like a good idea to me, I would be worried that the craftmanship would be a problem and it's not really worth it time wise.

Sounds like a lot of work to me, but it would be nice to see a silicone version of the Lucid Dream line, those work well, material aside.
